Rick and Shane had came back with the kid. The plan was to leave him out with a weapon but as it turns out he knew Maggie which made it dangerous since he probably knew where the farm was. And as much as I hate the idea of beatting a child, Daryl and my brothers were in charge of guarding him and getting information out of him.
Ace was braiding my hair at the moment so I could turn his attention from the shed where Randall was being held in. Carl, Carol, Glenn, Andrea, Lori, and us huddled by the fire trying to figure out what to do.
"So what you gonna do? We'd feel better if we knew the plan."
"Is there a plan?" Andrea asked.
"We gonna keep him here?" Glenn asked. I understand they're worried. I am too, this is a nice place and would be a shame if we lost it.
"We'll know soon enough." Rick said standing by Shane. I saw Daryl and Dean waking towards us.
"I'm done mom."
"Thanks Ace." I ruffled his head and stood up.
"Boy there's got a gang, 30 men. They have heavy artillery and they ain't looking to make friends. They roll though here, our boys are dead. And our women, they're gonna- they're gonna wish they were." I went wide eye. Oh god... I looked at Dean who had his hands clenched and he looked mad.
"What did you do?" Carol asked.
"Had a little chat." Dean said coming next to me. I placed a hand on his arm.
"It's going to be okay Dean." I muttered to him.
"No one goes near this guy." I sighed. It disgusts me how men like them think only for themselves instead of helping each other.
"Even when the world change it really hasn't..." I said. Ace hugged me and I placed a hand on his head.
"We have to eliminate the threat." I looked at Rick a bit hesitant.
"You're just gonna kill him?" Dale asked shocked.
"It's settled. I'll do it today."
"He's just a kid..." I said.
"A kid who knows our location and with a group with that much firepower we won't stand a chance." I sighed knowing that their minds have been made up. I shook my head disliking the idea of murdering a child who probably did nothing but try and survive. We began walking towards the Impala where Cass and Sam were at.
"What happened."
"They're going to execute him."
"But he's just a kid."
"There minds have been set. I hate it as much as you do Sam but...I'm not in charge. I wish there was another way."
"Perhaps I could erase his memories." Cass suggested knowing that he was against the idea as well.
"If we did then it would only confuse everyone and question things."
"They'll probably think he's lying and kill him anyways." I sat down on the stool and put my head on my hands.
"Mom?" I looked at my son who looked a bit worried.
"It's alright Ace, why don't you practice your math more?"
"Why math? It's not like it would help us." I sighed.
"Let's say you have a choice between choosing two people to save and there are walkers right there. Would you help person A or person B?"
"Um...I don't know. Choose the person who's closest to you?"
"That's an option or some would try to save both. You have to be quick minded. Learn math and answer the equations fast will help you with quick thinking. At least that's what I think."
"I guess..."
"Alright, Sam will help you."
"Why is it always me?"
"Does it look like Dean can do quick math?"
"Hey!"
"What about you?"
"Out of all of us you actually went to school."
"Stanford."
"Didn't you still learn math?" He sighed in defeat. Me and Dean high-fives each other.
"Come on kid, maybe I'll teach you some lawyer stuff."
"Oh god," I laughed. I saw Dale walking towards us.
"Hey Dale."
"Hey, um...so look. Rick gave me a chance to talk to the others- try and change their mind about Randall." I frowned and looked at the ground.
"Dale as much as I'm on your side it won't change their mind."
"But it's wrong!"
"I know Dale but I'm not Rick and Rick has everyone on his side."
"What if you helped change everyone's mind?" I sighed.
