The brunette's door opened in a frantic motion, startling him.
"Dream?" George asked.
At the door, emotions of urgency were covered by a mask, revealing the person as Dream.
"I'll explain when we get there, you need to see this," he said, grabbing the other's hand and bringing him along.
As they passed the now somewhat familiar hallways, George recognized the area from the detailed tour Dream had given. Despite that, however, he wasn't sure of what room this was. Sapnap was there as well with a concerned look plastered on his face.
"What's going on?"
"While patrolling the area, a male was wandering outside in the woods. When one of our men approached him, he wasn't giving a straight answer and they detained him. He did not come willingly and for our protection, Technoblade gave us strict orders to find his motives," Sapnap explained.
Dream remained silent, thinking of how to word this, "That's not everything though."
George gave a confused glance as he tried to process the information. Did he mention how tired he was?
"You just have to see it for yourself. They're bringing him in now."
As they entered the room, George immediately noticed the one-way glass, making the place remind him of a stereotypical police station. Through the speaker, he could hear the person's voice before he saw them.
"Let me go!" He complained, seeming to struggle, "Where's George?!"
Shocked, the brunette could barely process the scene in front of him. It was him. The boy from his memory. The one with light, fluffy brown hair. The one who'd given him the goggles. The one who'd spent his first paycheck for a belated birthday present. The one who'd rested his head upon George's shoulder, enjoying his presence as they relaxed under a tree.
And now, he was being forced into an integration room. He watched as the slightly older male tried to wiggle their way out. He watched as they protested, their pleas for freedom and George echoing through the walls. He didn't like it.
Through the chaotic events, he could remember his name. The name of the person tying him to his past life.
"Karl? This isn't necessary!" George objected. He felt anxious at the thought of the only known person from his past being questioned, "That's the person from my memories, Karl."
Dream looked from George to Karl, observing the stranger's actions. "Don't worry, George," He sighed and walked closer to the male, providing reassurance, "This is just a precaution."
Dream hadn't wanted to follow Technoblade's orders, but he couldn't ignore them either.
"Better us than the pig-man," Sapnap added.
George's two friends walked towards the door, entering the room which contained the male, "Stay here," Dream instructed.
The brunette was now alone, watching through the mirror as the two sat in front of Karl. Dream looked intimidating. His silence spoke a thousand words behind the mask. It was one of those moments where the blonde was serious.
While Dream hadn't outright stated it, he had his suspicions that Karl was somehow related to George and his situation. He knew exactly how to check and it seemed that Sapnap had the same idea.
"Can I see your wrist?"
Karl stayed quiet, reluctant to say anything. He was confused seeing as the only name he remembered was George. Once he awoke with a start earlier in the day, the only thing that had been constantly in his mind was George. He felt a strong need to protect.
