"Woah," George admired the armor. The variety within the gear remained the same as the swords, arranging from metals to size, "Did Philza make these too?"
After waking up in the early hours of the next morning, Dream and George were in the blacksmith looking for equipment. After remembering the one memory, something that George felt glued to because it was the only thing left of his past, he was wearing the goggles.
It was awfully quiet, something that came with waking up untimely.
"Yeah." Dream was looking for a new chest plate after it broke during a training session with Sapnap yesterday, "Philza made all of the equipment."
"That's impressive."
Dream gave a nod in response, his blonde curls lightly bouncing from the action. "He creates so we can fight. Without his work, we wouldn't be able to continue."
The calm silence returned as Dream grabbed a dark chest plate, a metal he'd informed George was netherite. It was one of the hardest to find, only residing in the pits of hell. As the blonde examined the armor, George was sitting on a counter, his legs dangling close to the ground.
"Did you guys build this base?" George asked. He'd actually been curious as to how it'd been established.
"We did some improvements and additions, but it's actually a remodeled stronghold."
"Stronghold?"
"It's the holder of the end portal; the realm of the dragon," he was now trying the chest plate on as he answered, "Once the dragon was defeated by a teamed duo for their mission, the portal deactivated. It's now useless, even with all the necessary items. Everyone had abandoned it once chaos struck, so we decided to make it home."
"It is safe," George added, liking the idea of the repurposed base, it put him at ease.
"Yeah. Sam even wired it with redstone."
"Redstone?" There were so many things to learn. George felt like a little kid.
"Basically a really complicated but cool and efficient way of doing things," Dream explained, smiling behind the mask when he realized the armor fit over his green long-neck sweater, "He's made multiple improvements. We have an automatic door, farm, and rail tracks if we ever need to quickly move between areas. There are also many advantages to using it during a fight."
"Really?" George was intrigued.
"Yeah. You should talk to Sam if you want to know more about it."
George would consider it. Sam seemed relaxed, making the brunette more inclined to ask him about it. George wasn't sure why, but he was curious about redstone. Dream had called it complicated, but he decided he'd be up for a challenge.
"What are you looking for in armor?" Dream asked, finally done with his searching.
"I'm not sure, what do archer's usually wear?"
"You probably won't be out in the frontlines, so less will be more. It'll also be lighter and give you an advantage."
George surveyed his potential options. A smaller, less bulky armor set stood out to him. In a way, the top looked like suspenders, leaving his upper chest exposed. The pants and shoes looked pretty normal to him, also created from the same netherite material.
"That looks nice," Dream complimented, liking the design.
"I think it'll work nicely." George collected the set, getting Dream to help him carry it.
"You boys are up early," Philza greeted, his pure blonde hair styled underneath his green and white bucket hat.
"Philza!" Dream exclaimed, "Great handiwork once again."
