A/N: A little angst. I'd say I'm sorry but I've been planning this since November. There is a content warning for brief thoughts on suicide. Don't worry about missing it because it's only like two paragraphs / isn't that important, you're health matters more than this story so skip if you have to! [i'm excited for MCC]
George woke to the sound of subtle footsteps outside his door. He looked over to the digital clock beside him: 1:34 am.
It was late for someone to be wandering the halls.
George shifted the blankets, getting adjusted to the cold air before standing. He glanced over at Karl sleeping. He was definitely a heavy sleeper in comparison to George.
A smile brisked his lips before wandering towards the door to satisfy his curiosity. Karl was his best friend and even without remembering, it seemed like they always were.
He peeked outside his door, heart racing as his head filled itself with the worst scenarios. The hallway looked as it always did, with rows of bedrooms within it and small decorations here and there that made it as lively as a hallway could be.
He let out a breath of relief when he realized it was just Halo.
The creak of his door must have notified the other as he now looked in George's direction, a smile on his face when he recognized him.
"Sorry." He apologized. "Did I wake you?"
"Yeah, but I'm a light sleeper so it's not really your fault."
Halo walked closer so they could whisper, "I couldn't sleep so I went on a walk. Did you know it's a full moon tonight? Super bright outside."
"I bet it was pretty." George yawned. "I just wanted to make sure everything was okay, my mind probably wouldn't have stopped thinking about the footsteps if I didn't investigate."
"Of course," Bad said, "I hope your sleep is lovely, muffin."
George smiled at the nickname, saying his farewell in response. Slipping through the opened door, he moved for his bed, a full night of sleeping ahead.

George was walking down the hallway, laughing as Foolish made some joke about his new way of living.
The two passed through the hallways towards what was deemed as the new medical station. George, after what felt like two months living here, was just grasping the number of hallways in the stronghold.
The duo turned the corner, going up a couple of stairs before approaching the door. Opening it revealed a decent-sized room, larger than the bedrooms but smaller than the large meeting room.
"So this should be your room now." His eyes searched for it. "And there's even an indoor garden for your herbs."
"Wow, you guys put this together quickly," he said, smiling brightly as always.
"It's the least we could do for you."
"I really appreciate it, I'll be happy to patch you up when needed," he replied.
"Oh, yeah? Now I'll get into trouble just for you Foolish."
"Hey, Hey! You still need to be careful," he laughed.
"Of course." George smiled. "I'll stay out of trouble if you promise to actually explore the place, don't let this area coop you up."
"Okay. Once I get everything set up maybe you can do a little training with me."
"Sure, that'll be fun. I'll bring the whole gang down, we could use a little practice."
Foolish nodded, "See you later, George!"
