Love is in the air

We took a rest in a house that's door was left open which was not very unusual. It was a big house; we all could fit in there without having to step on each other's toes (which we did a lot since we were all packed up in that small car for hours). We found some food such as cookies, cereals, and even coffee. Addy and Mack were having their shift as guards during the night so the rest of us could sleep.

-'' Me and Garnett will be next so the lovers can have a rest'', Warren said after sipping on her coffee. The '' lovers'' she referred to were Addy and Mack, of course, I think they were having more fun than actually guarding anything.

-'' 10k and Cassandra, check the cellar for anything useful'', Warren commanded. I was sitting around a table with Murphy and Doc, playing the card game we made up last time.

-'' What about us?'', I asked.

-'' Just stay alive, together and alert'', Warren simply said as she went outside.

-'' Why is everyone else a duo but we have to be a trio?'', Murphy asked as Warren had left.

-'' I think it's a nice way of saying that we are the cripples'', Doc commented as he slammed another card on the deck.

-'' That's not fair. I want to be a duo with her'', Murphy said and nodded toward me. ''I'm sure she can protect me by herself'', he added.

-'' Oh, so now you trust me?'', I sounded annoyed but I really wasn't. The door opened and Mack and Addy came in. They were all over each other as they went upstairs to the bedroom. It didn't take long before we started to hear some banging noises.

-'' Young lovers in the apocalypse'', Murphy said and we all felt really awkward in that situation, having to hear them so well. Cassandra and 10k were engaged in an interesting conversation where someone had understood something wrong and now they were fighting about it.

-'' If we could breed those two it would be the end for the zombies'', Murphy laughed and Doc joined him.

- '' Ew, stop it'', I commanded because I didn't want to think about everyone around me having sex.

- '' Talking about that, do you think there is something going on between Garnett and Warren?'', Murphy continued with his love speculations.

- '' I see, they are teaming the couples together and then there is us'', I mumbled and realized I was going to lose this game of cards again. I slammed all my cards on the table and groaned in frustration.

-'' Well, I am not against a love story either'', Murphy winked at me but I ignored it.

-'' Sure, you two would make a great couple'', I said, and meant Doc with Murphy. '' Maybe you could even make children together''.

-'' I do have something against this relationship'', Doc said while feeling uneasy. Just then Warren and Garnett ran inside and warned us that we had to leave now. Everyone was packing their guns and jackets while Doc was hoovering all the cards from the board like he was emptying a table of poker.

- ''Gotta make sure we are entertained while we are about to die'', he said before we ran out.

Turns out we were escaping from zombies AND a tornado which leads us to Warren's hometown and her home where she used to live with her husband. The only problem was that we found a young couple there, badly wounded.

-'' Great, are you lovers too?'', Murphy asked but as usual, his witty comments were ignored. The guy had suffered a serious injury on his head and he was starting to feel dizzy which made Doc freak out.

- '' We'll have to go look for a first aid kit or something from the fire station. Mack, if the guy turns into a zombie, you know what to do. Y/N, keep an eye on Murphy'', Warren gave her usual commands before leaving. Murphy was spreading his arms in confusion.

-'' What's all this about? Why do I have to be watched?'', he resisted but soon he had to use the bathroom and that was the end of the discussion. I followed him and waited outside just to fulfill the duty I got from Warren. The storm was raging more and more and soon the guy started to feel even worse.

-'' We have to seek shelter now'', Doc commanded as they started to transfer the guy to the cellar. I knocked on the bathroom door.

- '' Hurry up, we have to go'', I shouted but got no answer so I just went into the cellar with the rest of the group. The guy was really mumbling all kinds of nonsense and Doc was planning on poking his fucking brains out. He was calling for Murphy who suddenly turned up on the entrance looking very, very ill. My heart jumped when I saw that all his hair had fallen off.

- '' What's wrong with him?'', the woman asked.

- '' What the hell dude? It's not time to think about haircuts, you don't even look good in that'', Doc said and it would have made me laugh if I wasn't so scared. Doc wasn't having any of that so he just told us to look for something for piercing this poor dude's head. We found a drill and he accepted it.

- '' This is too brutal'', I mumbled and had very little confidence in his survival. But I noticed I kept my hand on my pistol at all times in case our beloved little baldy would suddenly start to crave for the brains this guy was about to burst out. I covered my eyes during the procedure because even after so many years of the apocalypse some stuff wasn't meant for my eyes.

The guy didn't die, that we can say, but the tornado was raging closer and closer and threw a zombie inside the window. It was not feeling very well but it had to be killed, still. Murphy was holding some kind of spike on his arms and just playing around with the zombie as everyone else was panicking and yelling at each other.

- '' Y/N can you feel this too?'', Murphy asked as he was staring at the zombie which was lying on the floor.

- '' Feel what? Just kill it'', I said and got close before shooting the zombie in its head. The tornado was right on top of the house now so we all got low, covering our heads like it would help anything. It took some minutes before we thought the worst was over now. Slowly we got out of our hides and opened the door. The weather had turned rapidly.

- '' It's weird that nobody died'', I said and looked around. Everything was destroyed but the whole group seemed to be alive and doing okay, even the guy who just got drilled in the head.

- '' Whatever. Let's just leave. I'm having a headache'', Murphy grunted as he marched towards our car. I watched as he went off, waddling like he'd drunk or just... a zombie.

- '' I really think we should hurry up with that lab. Our little vaccine doesn't seem to do too well''.

// I didn't think I'd come up with a new chapter this quick but here it is, I'm actually watching the series again minute by minute as I write this just to remember what's going on. Btw I hate the forced relationships the show had with 10K, he was just forced to find every young female as a possible partner, eh?
