We stopped to get some gas and something to eat after long hours of driving. When I hopped off the car, I remembered my poor hip and fell on the ground.

- '' Shit'', I mumbled.

- '' Get up or you will end up as zombie-food'', the man with me said.

- '' I can't, my hip hurts''. To my surprise, the man walked up to me and told me to straighten my legs.

- '' Looks like it's dislocated. You got lucky'', he said.

- '' What do you mean?'', I asked but he already grabbed my leg and pulled it hard to get it back in place. My scream was loud enough to wake up the whole country. That had to be one of the worst things I've felt during the apocalypse if we don't count the fact that I gave birth to a blue child. But truly, to my luck, my leg was working again and the pain eased.

- '' Dislocation is easy, breaking bones is not. Now we have to hurry, you probably woke every single zombie around the place'', he said and started to march towards an empty market.

As we were filling the tank, a car drove behind us and stopped. Two blends got out of the car and my heart dropped.

- '' Hello Y/N. Somebody misses you at home. Did you have fun with your little trip?'', the other one was approaching me and I panicked. I noticed that my friend Mr. Clean here had a gun on his belt and I took it and pointed it at the men. They lifted their hands up and stopped.

- '' Careful now, we don't want any harm. We just want to take you home'', they tried to speak to me but I wasn't having it.

- '' Give the gun back to me'', the man I was traveling with commanded.

- '' I am not going back! I'm not!'', I screamed.

- '' Give it back. Now'', he said with an even more serious tone and I let my hands drop before he took the gun from me.

- '' Glad we can negotiate'', the other one of the blends said before the guy next to me shot them both to death. I covered my mouth in shock but he didn't seem to care about it.

- '' What a waste of time. Don't take my guns if you are not going to use them'', he said as he threw the empty canister of fuel away.

- '' Time to leave, we wasted enough time already''.

Once we were back in the car, my panic started to lower.

- '' Are you not even going to ask why they were after me?'', I asked.

- '' I don't care. Besides, I know they are Murphy's blends. They didn't turn when I shot them. I guess he doesn't want his kind to leave him like that'', he said and I admired his quick thinking.

- '' They probably would have traded me for some currency'', I said and I didn't even know why I was speaking things like these.

- '' I don't want anything they have to offer'', he simply said.

- '' Mysterious you are'', I said and crossed my arms. I had no idea who this guy was, what he was up to nor did I even know his name. But he sure was determined. If there was a zombie on the road he would just speed over it. I wondered why didn't he do the same to me.

- '' Are you maybe some kind of cannibal or human trafficker? Do you have a family?'', I couldn't keep my mouth shut.

- '' No'', he said.

- '' No to what?''.

- '' All of them''.

- '' Come on, tell something about yourself. Fine, I can start; I am a mother. Crazy, isn't it? Your turn''.
