Change of plans

- '' Running out of gas!'', Warren calls after 3 hours of driving. 

-'' Let's check the nearest town'', Garnett says. All this sitting was making me restless since I didn't even know where we here heading and how long it would take. Luckily we turned to a small town. After driving for a while we found just what we needed; a truck filled with gas.

 The only problem was that the place was filled with zombies. They were all headed to some kind of tower that made noise. The zombies seemed totally mesmerized because of it. For a while, we just stared at them and I noticed that Murphy was looking very off about the situation. Warren, Garnett, and the soldier got out. 

-'' Addy, Mack, figure out what those z's are after. We will check the truck'', Warren gave us directions. 

-'' And what are we supposed to do? Be bites?'', Murphy asked with his arrogant tone. 

-'' Y/N and Doc, stay with Murphy'', Warren said as she was already walking away and we got inside a car to protect ourselves. 

-'' Great, my bodyguards include an old man and a woman way smaller than me'', Murphy said and I glared at him. 

-'' Your luck I'm not bigger than you'', I said as I got up with my rifle, checking if there were any z's coming near us but after some time I gave up and sat back. 

-'' What? How can you let your guard down like that? What if something happens?'', Murphy was panicking as he noticed I gave up looking around. 

- '' Calm down, we'll be fine. It's not like they are fast anyway'', I answered as I started to snoop around the car to find something useful. 

'' And it's not like it was you who was bitten 7 times, just saying'', Murphy snapped back due to his anxiety. 

'' Yeah, about that, how does that even happen? How did you even survive?'', Doc let his curiosity out with this question. Murphy's expression was very uncomfortable for a while but he was doing his best to hide it. 

- '' Let's just say I got '' lucky'' to be a volunteer, I'm nothing but a generous person so they tested the vaccine on me just before the lab was attacked with z's'', he finally said and we were both listening with great interest. 

-'' So there is a vaccine?'', I asked and felt a pinch of hope rise up inside me. 

-'' I wouldn't exactly call it ready'', Murphy added which made me think whether there was something he wasn't telling us. Everyone was silent for a while before I opened the glove compartment of the car and found a pack of cards. 

- '' Who wants to play?''. 

As we played, more and more zombies gathered around the car making Murphy almost lose his mind. 

- '' Don't worry, they can't hurt you'', Doc tried but it was all for nothing. 

- '' Fine, we'll just go and give them some mercy'', I said as I grabbed my rifle and opened the door. The minute I got up I heard the car's doors being locked and turned to look at Murphy. 

-'' What a gentleman'', I mumbled and almost got eaten by a zombie that attacked me from behind. I grabbed a knife from my pocket and fought the z off with that before getting ready to mercy the rest of them with Doc. It wasn't too hard but we kept wandering further and further from the car which made Murphy totally lose it as he hit the gas pedal and blasted off with the zombies still on the windshield. 

-'' What are you doing?!'', I yelled as if it would change a thing, the zombies went after him because of the noise the car made. I looked at Doc before we started to follow the car's traces.

As we finally saw the rest of the group, we heard an explosion. 

-'' What was that?'', I asked as the sky lit up with fire. 

-'' That, my dear friend, was the gas'', Garnett said with a defeated tone and my jaw dropped. 

-'' No way'', I mumbled. 

-'' Seems like next time you won't be the babysitter since that baby just drove itself against the truck we were trying to save'', Warren commented while giving Murphy some glares. He seemed happy to just be alive. 10k arrived with some cans of fuel. 

- '' I found some'', he said and I felt happier and happier with the fact that he was part of our team. 

-'' Great now let's get the hell out of here'', Warren said and I noticed some of us were missing from the group. I didn't question it, nobody really needed to ask what had happened to them. As we walked towards our car Addy crept next to me.

- '' I don't think he is going to save us, I feel like with him we are more in danger than we used to be'', she quietly said and I didn't answer, I kept looking at Murphy who looked now relaxed with the fact that we were all together. Somehow I couldn't even feel anger toward him. I guess he was just really, really traumatized and I couldn't help but feel emphatic toward him. 

// As I said I won't be 100% loyal to the plot, there already is a story like that about Murphy so I will be more free with this. 

// I noticed this part is not really in sync with the first one but I wrote these like half a year apart so maybe its okay
