Fabian woke up in a wonder like world. It was white and foggy as if he was standing in an empty museum with a fog. Then he saw a figure approach him, he didn't recognize the face of the person standing in front of him. All that he could think of is that he is standing in front of an angel.
"Ahh, a young boy, pity." The angel spoke. "Brown hair, blue eyes, fair skin. No, you weren't supposed to die, today's pick-up is a blond haired boy. What did you do boy?"
Fabian looked behind him to check if there was someone else but there wasn't, so he answered: "I died."
The angel sighed: "I can see that, but why?"
Fabian replied: "Shouldn't I be getting another set of questions?"
The angel rolled her eyes: "I am not the one that asks them, I am like a checker, I check who died and guide them. You know, to the big judgment or a chance to live again."
Fabian was confused: "I thought there was only heaven or hell, I wasn't under the impression rebirth was possible."
The angel laughed: "That's why no human knows what happens after death. Your case boy is interesting, died from fear and sadness, a classic amongst youngers, but I must say, you made the biggest mistake. Do you have a clue what you left behind?"
Fabian rolled his eyes: "They are better off. They don't need me."
The angel laughed even more: "They? Who are they? Boy, the moment you took a decision that wasn't written for you to take, you let go of 'they'. Selfishness is the worst thing ever."
Fabian sighed: "Can I just get my judgment already?"
The angel looked at him straight in the face and replied: "Hell. That's where you are going, it doesn't need a genius to guess it. You hurt people, deeply for that matter."
"I was helping them. And me, what happened to self-love?" Fabian argued, filled with fear of going into a burning fire.
"Self-love? Ha, you hate yourself, you hate everyone in your family and poor unfortunate Camila." The angel replied.
"I don't know a Camila." Fabian commented.
"And she'll never know you, hence the poor unfortunate." The angel pointed out.
"I don't get it." Fabian responded.
"She's your soulmate." The angel spoke dryly.
"I have a soulmate?" Fabian asked, looking regretful.
"Not anymore. Neither of you does. Your decision ended that. Pity though, she was waiting for you." The angel sang.
"You're oddly in a cheerful mood for someone who is delivering bad news. Plus how do you know all this?" Fabian questioned.
The angel smiled: "I am your guardian angel, like I said, I guide souls, the ones I am set for. I know this because I am also Camila's, and a few others. Now, where do you want to go?"
"I don't want to burn for eternity, but I don't want to be born again, isn't there an in-between?" He asked.
The angel sighed: "Couldn't you have thought of that when you were still alive?"
Fabian shook his head then dropped it and looked at the ground. What has he done?
"How about I let Camila decide this? A little torturing wouldn't hurt you, if she loves you enough she might help you, but you should know if she doesn't forgive you, you don't get a second life, you go straight into hell. Oh, and you have to wait for the connection to be formed too, which can take time." The angel offered, smiling greatly at the boy.
Fabian thought for a moment then asked: "Is she that powerful?"
The angel laughed: "She isn't to anyone, but you. Soulmates share a connection, you are a ghost to her now, she needs time to feel your presence, then she needs time to connect to you fully to be able to see you. Again, if you decide to go back to her and she doesn't forgive you, you are beyond dead, and I can't help you there."
