Fabian didn't realize that in the blink of an eye he was standing in front of his soulmate. The moment he laid eyes on her, he felt something. Even though he didn't have a body, he could feel a connection, like all he wanted to do was to protect her, to make her happy. It was weird, usually people don't fall in love when they first meet someone, but he did.
The angel realized this, so she laughed: "Yeah that's normal. Your souls are connected, even though you don't have a body, you'll be attracted to her. It's even stronger now since you're just a soul."
Fabian kept staring at the young lady sitting in front of him, she was obviously studying. Her long wavy red hair was falling on her copybook which was obviously annoying her. When she looked up to think, unknowingly she looked directly at Fabian. The moment her brown eyes met him, she smiled. She seemed to be confused as to why she did so she just looked back at her copybook, but Fabian was staring at her more than ever which caused the angel to smile too.
"She has a good soul, doesn't she?" The angel asked.
"Can I stay with her?" Fabian quickly replied.
"You can stay, but as a ghost. Unless the connection was made. Pity, you two should have met soon actually, you were supposed to become best friends. Her cheery attitude would've made you fall in love with her. I guess that love story was thrown out the window."
"She really would spend her life without love?" Fabian asked, looking regretful.
"Let's put it this way, her soulmate took his own life, she only has one soulmate. What do you think?" The angel sighed.
"Can't I do anything?" Fabian pleaded.
"Boy, I told you, she is the only one that can help you in this case. You would be breaking the rules, but you have a good heart. The fact is, if she has it in her heart to forgive you, she will bring you back." The angel repeated.
"Wait, why does she have to forgive me? We still didn't even meet in real life." Fabian stated.
The angel rolled her eyes: "Boy, you killed her soulmate. Do you think she will welcome you with open arms? The moment she finds out what you did, she will turn hostile. If I was you, I would take fire over this. This girl is protective of the people she loves, very protective. You'll see what I mean."
Fabian looked worried, the thought of Camila hating him hurt him completely. It was like he was hit by a bus, but when he sat next to her and looked back into her eyes, he felt safe. He tried putting his hand on her shoulder, but the moment he did Camila scratched her shoulder.
"Did she feel that?" Fabian quickly asked.
The angel laughed: "She felt something, but right now she can feel you. It's a miracle of how much she loves you. Good luck making her forgive you."
"I don't care about that, I just want to fix things for her." Fabian replied, unaware of the words he just uttered.
"I will check back with you later, I have another human to guide. Don't make things worse." The angel warned.
And just like lightning, the angel disappeared. Fabian looked deeply into Camila's eyes, for the first time in a long time he felt safe, and so did she. She felt comfortable, her hair didn't bother her anymore, it was evident on her smiling face.
"I will fix it Camila, I promise." Fabian whispered as tears flew down his eyes, he was surprised by the fact that he could still cry, but it didn't bother him. What bothered him most was how much he knew he hurt the girl sitting right next to him.
