The Truth

Franny woke up, she went to search for her mom but couldn't find her in her room, so she decided to go and see if she was in Fabian's room. When Franny opened the door to Fabian's room she quickly yelled: "Lena!"

Lena felt her heart drop when she heard Franny's voice, she instantly got up and ran out of her room. Camila followed Lena, while Fabian felt a sense of relief because Franny just stopped Lena from telling Camila the truth.

When Lena went into Fabian's room she found Franny standing next to a bloodstain found on the ground. When Camila got to the door she saw the blood too, that made her look away. Lena quickly went over to Franny and started moving her away from the blood stain saying: "Franny, why did you yell? It's just cranberry juice. Fabian spilled it the day before he left, there is nothing for you to be afraid of."

"It looks like blood, I thought someone got hurt here," Franny spoke in a faint voice.

"Why would someone get hurt in Fabian's room? You know that monsters are afraid of Fabian, no one would dare hurt him." Lena lied. "Now, why don't you go downstairs and play with your toys."

When Franny left the room Camila asked: "That isn't juice is it?"

"Fabian died here," Lena replied, wiping her tears away. "I saw him, that morning, covered with blood. I wish I could've done something."

Fabian felt bad watching Lena cry. He didn't think what he did mattered to her, but it did. He felt guilty. Felice pulled him back into Lena's room to try and convince him to tell Camila what happened before she figures it out.

"How can someone break into his room? His window isn't that big." Camila stated.

   "Break in?" Lena asked.

"Yeah, he was killed here. How can someone get in here to kill him?" Camila rephrased.

"Camila, Fabian wasn't murdered," Lena replied.

"Then how did he die?" Camila asked. She felt a burning sensation in her heart, hoping that what she was thinking wasn't true.

"Fabian... he died..." Lena tried saying the word but it wouldn't come out of her mouth. She took a deep breath, exhaled then looked straight at Camila, "He killed himself, he died by suicide."

Camila felt her heart drop completely. She felt her whole body light up in flame, she couldn't breath, she couldn't think. Her eyes filled with tears as her head felt as heavy as a rock, she went over to comfort Lena, but deep down she was getting torn apart.

In her mind all negative thoughts came rushing in, how dumb she could've been. How come she didn't see that earlier, how come she never realized it, she was furious and heartbroken at the same time. She didn't feel like there were any positive words she could create to help that situation. It was a mess.

Meanwhile, as Fabian and Felice were arguing, the angel appeared saying: "You ran out of time boy."

Fabian looked at the angel and asked: "I don't think so, how can I run out of time when Lena clearly lied to protect my truth?"

The angel shook her head: "You should've told her yourself."

"That's what I have been saying. You should just tell her the full truth Fabian. Imagine how heartbroken she'll be to find out from Lena, or from our parents. She's the only one to help you, you should at least tell her the truth." Felice spoke.

"Don't you get it? I don't know how. I thought I could, but when I looked at her for the first time, I didn't want to hurt her. I didn't want to see her cry, imagine if I told her the truth, imagine if I looked her in the eye and broke her heart. If I told her that her soulmate is dead, she'll be heartbroken." Fabian confessed.

"Imagine if she found out some other way. The fact that you are not telling her is showing her that you don't trust her, that you're lying to her. And believe me when I tell you girls hate lying. Camila mostly, she used to say that she would forgive someone if they told her the truth, but would need time to trust them again. You can still become human without her trust, but without her forgiveness you are doomed." Felice explained. "You have to talk to her."

"I don't care about becoming human anymore. Camila is right, my parents and family will find a way to heal, but I don't want to lose her trust. Camila has been my whole world for the past few months now, her trust matters more to me than coming back." Fabian admitted.

"Boy, Camila wants you to be human again. Your family won't heal, they will always be in pain, and when Franny finds out the truth she'll be mad at everyone for lying to her. The whole situation is messed up. You made a mistake and you can fix it, but you keep running away from it." The angel spoke.

"That's what I have been telling you Fabian. The truth will set you free, the truth is your solution. Once you own up to your mistake you can get through it. You ruined your life and your family's life, and Camila's life, the least you can do is admit it." Felice scolded.

"Well what do you want me to say? Hey Camila, you and I are soulmates and I killed myself because I gave up on life?" Fabian snapped.

What Fabian didn't know was that Camila was standing at the door of Lena's room with Lena herself, and that both girls heard him. "Fabian?" Lena asked looking straight at him.

Fabian instantly turned around to see Camila and Lena sobbing, but what stood out to him was Camila's face, she looked betrayed. The moment he dreaded most arrived, the moment he was avoiding just happened, and it was just like how he feared.

Lena looked at Camila then back at Fabian, Camila shook her head then spoke faintly: "I am sorry Lena, but I can't do this."

Lena looked back at Camila who looked at Fabian then left running. "How could you?" Lena yelled at Fabian as she fell to the floor.

Fabian looked at his sister and the guardian angel. "The devil is getting his reward." The angel spoke.

"Which one?" Felice asked, as Fabian looked at them confused to what was happening.

"The question is: which one can be saved first?" The angel corrected, then disappeared.

   "Fabian go." Felice ordered.

"Felice, what's going on?" Fabian asked.

"You think I wanted this? The devil has both Lena and Camila wrapped around his finger. The one that gives up first, he claims." Felice explained.

"What about Lena? I can't just leave her." Fabian questioned.

"I will do my best with Lena, but you are the only one that can save Camila. Decide whether to try to make her forgive you or surrender to the devil." Felice answered.

Hearing those words made Fabian feel pressured, but he knew that it was time for him to finally pay for his mistake.
