During interviews, Mew was often asked about who his biggest love was. About whom he loved the most. Obviously, the question was directed in such a way that they tried to get him to answer his current co-actors, like Art and Copter, but he never exactly followed what the interviewer required of his answers. Instead, he liked to think he actually thought the question through before he answered something half-assed. He prided himself on the fact that he was a genuine person, even in his blatantly directed interview answers.
So, Mew never answered something obvious like the name of his co-actor or his family. If he answered his co-actor, there would be no real truth in it, since they were just friends. Even if they had kissed on numerous times in front of a camera. As for his family, they knew that they were the most important people in his life, so there was no reason to repeat it again with a camera present. He told them plenty about how much he loved them when they were together.
"I love my fans the most," he answered instead. It was the most truthful answer he gave along with the most genuine smile he had. His fans were everything to him. They were his most important relationship, the only one he needed in his life.
"Hi," he greeted the girl in front of him. She was nervously looking down at her hands, too intimidated by the presence of her idol right in front of her. "What's your name?" It was hard to get the most nervous of fans to talk to him, but he always tried, nonetheless. Most of the times, a simple joke or a smile their way managed to break them out of their stupor.
"My name is L-Luna," The girl looked up eventually, holding out the letter she had prepared to give him. Mew smiled and thanked her. The envelope was pink. His name was written in golden letters on top of it. He placed it on the left next to him - his manager would gather the gifts after the fan-meet so he could read it at home - and bend down to sign the picture of himself. 'For Luna,' he wrote, 'Thank you for your beautiful letter.'
"Did you have to travel long to get here?" he asked, one of the many random questions he asked the fans to make their experience unique. Also, he just liked hearing about his fans. The girl in front of nodded a little, then realizing what she had admitted, she shook her head directly after. Mew couldn't help the laugh that escaped him.
"It was no bother!" The fan, Luna, assured him eventually. "I'm super glad to be here and finally meet you."
Mew grinned at her. "I'm super happy to meet you as well," he said, the words truly from his heart.
The girl blushed as she heard this. Looking at her red ears, he idly noticed she had the same piercings as him. Something stirred in his heart and made him smile ever more. Real fans show their love in the smallest of ways.
She thanked him with a small stutter. The staff signaled to Mew that he had to move on, so he waved to the fan. After a quick goodbye, she left the table. Mew followed her with his eyes for a second. He truly loved meeting his fans and while a fan-meet was the best way to do so, he wished he could spend longer with his fans than just those few sentences. His fans were so precious to him, it always made him feel that those moments just weren't enough.
The staff brought the next fan to the table.
"Hi there," Mew said again, "What's your name?"
He truly loved his fans. He really did.
But with every relationship, there were some problems he could not avoid. Because he loved his fans so much, he tried to do everything in his power to not disappoint them. It often was a lot of pressure he brought upon himself, but he felt that he owed it to them. After all, they loved him very much, and he could only repay that love if he worked hard enough.
Mew was a hard worker by heart, so he didn't mind putting in all this effort. That was how this relationship worked, how their love survived and continued in the future. It was all worth it.
