So, was he- What? The? Actual? Fuck?
Gulf had no idea what to answer to a question like that. Was he good... in what? Was Mew good in bed? Could he even answer a question like that, wouldn't it invade their privacy? And did he even want to? Copter's words didn't make sense to Gulf, as if this was somehow a casual topic they could discuss in the bathroom of an award show?
As if this was something casual?
It wasn't, right?
Right?
A cold shiver suddenly racked Gulf's body. He checked the make-up covering the red spots on his neck, suddenly finding it very important that nobody saw, and adjusted the stupid scarf back to its original position. Then he remembered that he hadn't answered Copter's question.
Not that he wanted to.
Why was this so hard? Why did it sting so much? Why could he not just deny it right-out?
"I don't think that's any of your concern," he answered eventually, voice tight. He kind of didn't want to face Copter, but his reflection in the mirror seemed to taunt him all of a sudden.
"Oh shit, man, I didn't mean it like that!" Copter's tone did a whole one-eighty, from casual to apologetic. "It was just a random remark, sorry, I shouldn't've assumed," when Gulf finally turned, he could see the other actor run a hand through his hair. One of his locks stayed standing upright, which, Gulf thought, served him right.
"I-..." don't think Mew is the type to just casually sleep with his co-actor. Those were the words Gulf wanted to say, yet they got stuck on the tip of his tongue. He was sure he wouldn't. He believed what happened between them meant something, but how much did he know this Mew in the end?
The other Mew had cheated, and although this Mew said he would never, did this... mean anything? Did that night mean as much to Mew as it had to Gulf, or was it just a casual thing to his eyes?
Surely, there must be a reason why Copter – Mew's ex co-actor!!!! – would say he could sleep with his co-actors? It seemed impossible, unbelievable, and Gulf really did not want to even think about it but...
Those words had put something in his heart. A seed of doubt that was ugly and uncalled for and impossible to ignore.
"Ah nong Gulf, really, just ignore what I said! I have a big mouth and sometimes get ahead of myself," he grimaced. "I'm honestly a bit jealous of you two, Mew always was very distant even through all the fan-service. It kind of makes me regret we never became friends," Copter shrugged. "It's in the past now though, so it doesn't matter."
"It's fine," Gulf said, trying to stop Copter's words, which only made it worse. He just wanted to get away from the guy, forget this had ever happened and feel Mew's safe arms around him again.
It was, in fact, not fine.
"Really, I'm looking forward to seeing you act in season 2. I wish you all the best," Copter seemed to kind of get the hint, trying to end the conversation on a lighter tone.
Gulf nodded, putting a smile on his face that felt plastic. "Thank you," he said, "and thank you for telling me about..." the hickeys, "and for showing me to the bathroom."
Copter shook his head. "No need, no need, if you ever need something, please tell me!" He opened the door, walking out of the bathroom with that one hairlock still sticking up. Gulf said nothing about it. "It was nice meeting you, sorry once again for running my mouth."
"Nice meeting you as well," his words were only half-felt, looking around the corridor for the nearest escape. He recognized the way they had taken earlier, and with a wave, left Copter behind in the hallway. He didn't feel like saying anything anymore to the other actor.
