You are the warm breeze that passes through me when my heart is shaking.
"It's called 'season of you'."
The car motor shut off, leaving the two in complete silence. Slightly at loss, Gulf mirrored Mew's earlier action on unbuckled his seatbelt. Mew smiled at him.
"It's the melody I showed you before, remember?" he asked. Gulf nodded. Season of you had been a very meaningful song in the other universe, the lyrics so blatant there could be no doubt whom it was about. It was the first song Mew had released; a homage to his love for Gulf.
Does it mean the same here? Am I allowed to hope?
(Aren't you already sure?)
It was that voice which had been quiet for so long that brought him out of his stupor. Mew's hand was leaning on the door handle, ready to go outside to the stall to get food, but his eyes lingered on Gulf – attentively waiting for his reaction. Eventually, Gulf started to smile.
"Will you show it to me later?" he asked, taking initiative and opening his own door. He felt a bit exposed to the outside – anyone could easily recognize him and Mew at this random public food stall – yet couldn't find himself to really care. The jitters that had been present earlier had changed into something way more pleasant.
Whatever happened today, whatever the result was of today's words and feelings that were to be exposed, at least they'd have proper closure. And Gulf was indeed, growing pretty sure about some things.
"I'd love to," Mew whispered loud enough for Gulf to hear before he followed. The two were relatively silent as they walked to the stall, made their orders and waited somewhere more secluded until it was done. Gulf had no idea how Mew had gotten to know this place, but the cook seemed familiar with him and didn't ever raise his brows when he saw Gulf. Furthermore, there weren't many people in the vicinity, leaving them mostly alone and without any stares.
It was very much feeling like a date.
Mew paid, grabbed the bags with their food and walked back to the car. He had asked Gulf how the interview went, and both had laughed about Mild's jokes during. It was simply lego talk; the nong absolutely loved it.
They continued in similar fashion during the car ride, and it didn't take long for them to arrive at their destination. Gulf had come to the recording studio of his phi before, moments of bliss back when their relationship was undefined. Even though, he guessed, it still was. Honestly, this wasn't the most romantic nor casual date location – but the simple fact that it was so entirely phi made it all the more special. Who needed a restaurant to confess, a football field at night? Sometimes the most simple and heartfelt things were so much more special.
The things you are passionate about and love. And for Mew, in any universe, that was music. And maybe, just maybe... it was also the 'season of love'.
Like a morning sun that clear away my loneliness.
They sat down on the ground, leaning against the sofa with their food on the low table inside the studio. They made sure to stay away far from any expensive devices and made do with cushions and cheap chopsticks to make themselves comfortable. Mew split a pair of chopsticks and opened the containers for nong before tending his own. Gulf could recall countless others who had done the same for him before, yet this was completely different from all of those.
Because it was his phi, because it was Mew, because it was the person he liked.
"I'm glad I met you," it seemed to leave Mew out of nowhere, casually in between his bites. "I've been in this industry for a long time, have seen and met a lot of people. However, meeting you was something entirely different than anything before." He was quiet for a while, and Gulf's own hand stilled as he watched his phi.
