Kevin set to work on all manner of missing assingments he had. In his respite of a few weeks, he'd made a large dent in his late work, and some had come back in the bad last few days.

But he felt a new energy driving him. He felt a desire to blot out his academic woes for good.

In only an hour, he'd gotten done with assignments he'd left sitting for weeks. There were many more, but at least now he had the more recent late work done.

It felt relieving. On top of his successful date, Kevin felt a more pure happiness than he had in a while.

As he started to get ready for bed, he felt his phone buzz. Opening it, he found something very, very bad.

-hey Kelpy, can we talk?

This was the last thing he needed right now. Kevin breathed deep, and carefully. The friction began to build, as his competing desires grappled for attention.

He could not reply. He could not.... reply.....

Okay. He was going to reply, but he would stand his ground. He... he needed to actually apologize.

Kelpy
- yes, what's on your mind?

- I'm sorry I freaked out at you the other day

Kelpy
- that's alright. I did something very bad, something despicable
- you were right to get angry

UrbanMermaid
- I wasn't as mad about that - more about your opinions on LGBTQ+ people

Kelpy
- well, I could've expressed my opinions in a better way

- I just... I can't see how you believe what you do
- and it makes me sad  :(

Kelpy
- I don't agree with LGBTQ people
- but I don't hate them
- I want to be nice to them
- Even if we don't agree

UrbanMermaid
- If you want to be nice to them accept who they are

Kelpy
- I'm sorry, I don't believe in that
- but I do believe that LGBTQ people should have the freedom to live as they want

UrbanMermaid
- you should live as you want to Kelpy

Kelpy
-what do you mean?

UrbanMermaid
- I don't think "it's just a fetish"

Kelpy
- I'm not a girl

UrbanMermaid
- you should broaden your view of the world
- you might find it makes you happier

Kevin had done that today. But not in the way that Brita intended. What he had found today was real happiness. He didn't know how most transgender people felt, but at least for him, all these thoughts were were a fantasy. They were not reality, and never would be. Trying to make them reality was dangerous.

Kelpy
- I really don't think I'm trans

- do YOU not think you're trans, or does your CHURCH not think you're trans?

Kevin fumed slightly at her attack.

- tell me
- if your church told you it was completely okay to transition, would you?

Kelpy
- they wouldn't

- just entertain the thought for a moment
