Chapter IV

A few days passed. Jang Mi was sitting in her cafe, there weren't many customers. She was really worried about how Taehyung and her are going to deal with the whole engagement thing. She was lost in her own thoughts when the cafe door opened. She stood up to welcome the person who just entered but was surprised to see Taehyung's mother there.

She didn't knew what to do and how to react. She went to her and greeted her.

Taehyung's mother didn't greet her back. Instead she sat down on one of the tables.

" let's talk" she said.

Jang Mi nodded and sat in front of her.

"you know right? Taehyung's father and I don't like you both dating. Anna is the one for our Taehyung." She said sternly.

Jang Mi knew she had to do something now. She had to somehow convince his parents.

"Mrs.Kim, I want to tell you that, I really love your son. I care for him and I haven't felt this way for anybody before. Please Mrs.Kim. Taehyung and I, we really want to be together. Please."
Jang Mi was emotional but his step mother didn't budge at all.

"I don't want to hear that stupid stuff. And we don't care if you love each other or what.  All I am saying is stay away from Taehyung."

Jang Mi tried her best in convincing his mother but failed miserably.

"I am sorry, Mrs.Kim. I can't leave Taehyung. I love him." She said and got up to leave when his mother spoke and Jang Mi froze in her tracks.

"Mr.Jang Sejun and Mrs.Jang yeji."

Jang Mi was shocked. She turned to look at his mother.

"H-How do you know my parents name?!"

"Sit down." His mother said grinning wickedly.

Jang Mi unwillingly sat down. She looked at his mother, astonished.

"So your father owns a small business in Seoul and your mother is an elementary teacher. Am I wrong?"

"How do you know all of this?!!" Jang Mi was taken aback.

Taehyung's step mother laughed cunningly.

"It's not difficult for me to gather information about you. Anyway. I am sure you love your parents very much. Is it not?" She asked to a scared Jang Mi.

Jang Mi was at a loss of words.

"I don't want to stoop down low but since you are refusing to leave Taehyung, you are leaving me with no choice." She said nonchalantly. "I can take down your father's business in a blink of an eye and kick your mother out from the school."

Jang Mi was shivering now.

"Y-You can't d-do that!!" She said stuttering.

"Yes honey. I can." His mother glanced at her watch. "Hmm let's wait for a few minutes. Till then, get me a cold coffee."

Jang Mi didn't budge since she was too shook.

"Did you not hear me?!" His mother said with her voice slightly raised, making Jang Mi flinch. "Get me a cold coffee."

Jang Mi went in to make her, her cold coffee. She was still shivering.

What if she does something really bad to my parents!
She thought.

After a few minutes, she placed her order in front of her. Taehyung's mother gestured her to sit down. She did as she was told.

Jang Mi's phone rang.

She checked the caller ID. It was her dad. She looked at his mother.

Has she already done something bad. Oh go. No please.
She thought.

Hello. Appa?

Hello.

Jang Mi panicked because it wasn't his dad's voice. Taehyung's mother had a wicked grin on her face.

Jang Mi gulped.

Yours was the last dialled number so we called you. I am Park Gwan Su, the doctor at BangTan hospital. This patient was brought in this morning, he had an accident. May I know whom I am speaking to?

Jang Mi's heart stopped for a moment.

This is his daughter. Jang Mi speaking.

Ohh ok. Your father is in the hospital. Please come fast.

Yes. I will be right there.

She sprung up from the table ready to leave.

"I hope this can teach you something." His mother said.

Jang Mi glared at her before leaving.
It took all her courage to stop herself from murdering that lady right then and there.

Jang Mi rushed to the hospital. The doctor recognized her, as her father had her picture as wallpaper. He accompanied her to his cabin after showing her father to her.

"Thankfully it was a minor accident. Some car hit him."

"Was it a hit and run case, doctor?!!" She asked, relived that his father was fine but still angry.

"No no. The guy who hit him apologized and is going for a settlement. He himself brought him to the hospital."

"Ohh okay. Thank you doctor. Can I meet my father now?"

The doctor nodded.

She sat down beside her father. A chill ran down her spine when she thought of Taehyung's step mother.

She is a dangerous lady!
She thought.

She informed only Miso about it. Miso was at work but offered to pay them a visit but Jang Mi refused. She said they were fine and asked to not tell Taehyung anything about it just now.  Miso agreed without questioning her further.

As her father was asleep, she thought of going to the cafeteria to drink coffee. When she came out, Taehyung's step mother was standing there.

"This was just a small teaser, you see." She said.

"How can you do this!! Aren't you a human?!! How dare you touch my father!!" Jang Mi shouted. Her blood boiled to see her face right now.

"Hold on there honey. You can't just shout like that. You now know what I am capable of. " his step mother was so cunning. "I'm giving you another chance. Break up with Taehyung."

"You can't do this!!"Jang Mi said on the verge of tears.

"Aww. I sure can. If you still haven't learnt anything from this. Then, I can something else too." She said showing a picture of her mother crossing the road.

"If you say any of this to Taehyung, you know what will happen." His step mother said.

Jang Mi felt like she was standing on two crossroads. One side was Taehyung and other side were her parents. She didn't knew where to go. Both of them were equally important to her.

She groaned in frustration.

Taehyung's mother sat down on the bench crossing her legs.

"I am giving you five minutes to answer. I don't have more time to waste on you."

Jang Mi thought about it really hard. She didn't knew what was going to happen next but she chose to go with the decision she made.
