Chapter VI

Next morning, Namjoon and Miso decided to go grocery shopping. They were still weren't aware of Taehyung and Jang Mi's breakup. They assumed that both of them were asleep in their room.

They went out to market and bought some of Taehyung and Jang Mi's favorite snacks.

After returning from shopping, they were in the kitchen. Jang Mi came out too, her eyes red and puffy. Miso looked at her confusingly but assumed that it was because as she woke up from sleep just now.

"Jang Mi! I brought yours and Taehyung's favorite snack!! And ice cream!!" Miso exclaimed.

"Where is Taehyung? Let's call him too here and munch on our snacks." Namjoon laughed.

"Taehyung-aah!! Taehyung-aah!" Namjoon started calling him but there was no response from the other side.

"Let me just go and bring him." Namjoon said and was about to leave when Jang Mi held his hand.

"He won't come now." She said with a blank expression.

Miso and Namjoon were confused.

"He won't come now..." She repeated and broke down.

"Hey what happened?!" Namjoon hugged her caressing her back.
"Jang Mi? Are you alright?"

"Jang Mi? Why are you crying? Is everything alright between you and Taehyung?" Miso asked.

Jang Mi told them how she broke up with Taehyung and how his mother threatened her.

"What the helll!!" Namjoon clenched his fists in anger.

"Oh god! Why didn't you tell Taehyung about it?" Miso asked hugging her.

"Because his step mother said if Taehyung comes to know that she threatened me, she will not think twice before laying a finger on my parents!"
Jang Mi couldn't control herself.

"But Jang Mi... you should have told Tae. He would have handled it somehow." Namjoon spoke.

"No Joonie. Knowing Tae, he might have lashed out at his mother. I don't know if that is a right thing to do."

"I don't want my parents to get hurt because of me. You understand me right?!" Jang Mi asked.

Namjoon and Miso nodded.

After a few minutes, Jang Mi was a little calm.

"Ok! I will cook something for you." Miso said.

"Just see that you don't burn down the kitchen." Namjoon joked.

"Look who's saying!!" Miso retorted.

This made Jang Mi laugh a little.

Jang Mi told them that she would stay with her parents for few days since her father also needs help with the daily check up.

They didn't want her to be alone, but let her go as her father needed her.

I can't see her like this.
Miso sighed.

Miso was in the kitchen, while Jang Mi and Namjoon were sitting in the hall, watching Television, when the door bell rang. Namjoon got up to open the door.

It was Taehyung. He had bloodshot eyes and reeked of alcohol, even though he wasn't drunk now. He was a total mess.

"Tae?" Namjoon was happy but surprised to see him.

Taehyung entered and saw Jang Mi seated on the couch. They both looked away from each other.

Miso came running to the hall.

"Tae! How have you been?!" Miso asked.

"Great!" He said sarcastically looking at Jang Mi. "Don't mind me, I am just here to take my stuff. I will leave soon." He went to his room.

"But Tae..."

Namjoon gestured Miso that he will go and talk to him. She nodded.

Jang Mi was devastated.

Namjoon entered his room and saw Taehyung looking at his and Jang Mi's picture which was on the table. He had a sad smile on his face.

Namjoon patted his back. Taehyung quickly put the photo frame down and turned to look at Namjoon.

"Isn't this Jang Mi's stuff?" Taehyung asked pointing at the packed suitcase.

Namjoon nodded. "She is going to live with her parents for few days as her father also needs her since he isn't well." Namjoon blurted out, only to regret it later.

"What? What happened to her father?!" Taehyung asked worried.

"Oh nothing. It's just that he is down with fever." Namjoon corrected his sentence.

Taehyung nodded, unconvinced.

"Tae?"

"Hmm...."

"Don't you want to talk about it?!" Namjoon asked.

Taehyung shook his head but broke down soon after. He was crying now.

"Namjooniee.." his voice cracked.
"I thought Jang Mi would be that one person who would stick by my side no matter how hard things got. But No! I was wrong !" he sobbed.

"Tae..." he hugged him.

Namjoon's heart ached to see Taehyung like this. He was always the adorable, cheerful guy but now he looked devastated.

"What do I do now?! I have no one now. I have no option but to go back to my father. If it wasn't for my real mother, I would have left him long back. I am staying by his side only to keep the promise I made to her."

"Don't say that Tae. You aren't alone. We are with you. Ok?"

"But... Jang Mi won't be there. I was so frustrated yesterday that I agreed to get married to that Anna girl!!" He wiped his tears, but they kept falling.
"Now I regret it. I texted and called Jang Mi a lot but she didn't pick up any of my calls. I guess this is really the end." He was tired, he just wanted to hug Jang Mi, his Jang Mi.

They sat there in silence for a few minutes, until Taehyung spoke.

"Anyway. I will take my clothes and leave. Rest of my stuff, I will drop by tomorrow."

After half an hour , Taehyung came out. Namjoon followed him.

"Bye Miso!"  He said to Miso, ignoring Jang Mi.

She could feel her heart break. It took all her courage to stop herself from running to Taehyung and pulling him into her arms.

And then he was gone. Just like that.
