Chapter IX

Jang Mi woke up first in the morning. She realized Taehyung was beside her. She got up from the bed carefully, trying not to wake him up. She grabbed her clothes from the floor, dressed up and went out.

Shitt! I should have stopped him! He was drunk but I wasn't! What do I do now?!!!!!
She didn't want to face Taehyung, so she went out for a walk in the park.
But before leaving she left a note for Taehyung.

She took a walk in the park.

Meanwhile, Taehyung had woken up too. He put his hand around the bed. He sat up straight. Jang Mi wasn't there, instead there was a note.

He read it.

Go back home. Don't come to me. Let's pretend nothing happened between us.

Taehyung was shocked. He couldn't believe last night meant nothing to her. He thought last night would have made everything right between them but he was wrong.

He got dressed and ran out. He saw Namjoon sitting on the couch, scrolling through his phone and Miso was in the kitchen making breakfast. She stopped once she saw Taehyung.

"Tae?" She said.

Namjoon looked at her and then turned back following her gaze.

"Tae! You are here!!" Namjoon went to him.

Taehyung smiled weakly.

"Joon! Where did Jang Mi go?" Taehyung asked him.

"Huh?? I don't know." Namjoon was confused.

"Were you two together?" Miso asked.

Taehyung nodded.

He excused himself and ran out of the apartment. He called her a few times but she didn't pick up.

"Aaarrgghhhhhh!!!" Taehyung groaned in frustration.

He was heart broken once again. He shouldn't have expected anything in the first place, he thought.

Disappointed and heart broken, he went home, his dad's house, where he currently lived in.

"Taehyung-aah! You are here!" His step mother went to him, hugging him.

Taehyung pushed her away lightly. Then his father approached him.

"We have decided to hold the engagement next week."

Taehyung looked up at him surprisingly.

"I am so happy that you agreed for the engagement." His father hugged him.

Taehyung was taken aback by the sudden hug. This was the first time in these years that his father hugged him.

Does this engagement make him so happy?!
He thought.

Taehyung was so frustrated,sad and angry that he didn't stop his dad from holding the engagement.

He went to his bedroom. He started throwing things around. He couldn't control anymore.

He opened his closet and sat inside.

Taehyung always hid himself in the closet whenever he felt alone or whenever he was reminded of the care taker. He started sobbing uncontrollably. His knees glued to his chest. He buried his face in his hands.

"D-Don't do that to me..." he mumbled.

The scared child in him was awake.

"Eommmaaa!!" He cried.

Taehyung cried until his eyes ran out of tears. He fell asleep in his closet. He was used to the dark space now.

Jang Mi on the other side regretted avoiding Taehyung.

I should have at least talked to him.

She didn't want to leave him alone as she now knew about his troubled childhood. But she didn't have any choice. Her parents would be the one to face consequences for whatever she did. She hated his step mother more than ever.

After the walk, she entered her apartment.

Namjoon and Miso were sitting on the couch. They started staring at her as soon as she went in.

"What??" She asked defensively.

"Tae was here." Miso said.

"Ahh... that..."

She explained to them, how he got drunk and how they ended up together.

Miso and Namjoon sighed.

"Now what? " Miso asked.

"What?"

"Are you going to avoid him?" Namjoon asked.

"I can't tell him anything guys!! My parents life is at stake here! This isn't funny! I can't tell Taehyung about it! I can't go to the cops! I can't do anything! I feel pathetic right now! Ugh!" She shouted and went to her room, frustrated.

Miso went in too. First Jang Mi didn't let her in but eventually did.

"I am sorry. We are just worried about you both. That's it." Miso said.

"No. I am sorry." Jang Mi hugged Miso.
