Chapter XI

"Did you receive the invitation too?!" Miso asked Jang Mi.

She nodded sadly.

"You don't have to go. You know that right?" Namjoon said.

She nodded again.

Miso sighed.

"Jang Mi! Say something."

Jang Mi looked at them blankly.

"I don't know. Initially I thought some miracle would happen that will stop his engagement with Anna and that's why I broke up with him. I thought he would do something to stop the engagement but....." she trailed off.

"He might have tried." Namjoon said.

Miso agreed.

"It's finally happening now. " Jang Mi sighed. 

After a few minutes of silence between them, Jang Mi spoke.

"I am going."

Namjoon and Miso looked at her, surprisingly.

"To Taehyung's engagement?!!" Namjoon asked.

"Yes."

"Jang Mi! Are you alright? Why go there and torture yourself?!" Miso asked. "That's crazy."

"I know."

"I don't understand." Namjoon went in to his room, sighing.

"Jang Mi! Think about it. You don't have to go!  Why do you want to go, firstly?!"

"Just like that...I am still hoping for a miracle." Jang Mi said smiling sadly.

"Ugh Jang Mi! What do I do with you?!
I hope this miracle happens otherwise
I am dragging you out of there!"
Miso stated.

Jang Mi laughed. Miso punched her playfully.

Taehyung and his step mother were out shopping for engagement ring.
He was brought for shopping reluctantly by his step mother.
These days Taehyung seemed to do everything his parents told him to.

He was like a lost child in a maze.
He was crying inside for help but sadly nobody heard him, not even the love of his life, Jang Mi. He would regress into the state where he would be reminded of the troubled childhood, every now and then. He stopped going to his Psychiatrist too after he asked him to talk about it to his friends. Taehyung didn't want to show his weak side to any of them and make them worry about him. His psychiatrist kept calling him because for him Taehyung was like a friend too and not just a patient.

"So Taehyung-aah! Which design did you like?" His step mother asked him.

"I don't care. Choose whatever you want."

"Come on. It's your engagement. You should choose the best ring for the person you love!" She said purposely.

The person you love.

These words rang in his mind and he was only reminded of Jang Mi.

"I don't love her." He said deadpanned.

His step mother pursed her lips.

"Anyway, let's choose."

Taehyung looked at the rings unwillingly.

One ring caught his eye.
It was of a similar design which he wanted to buy for Jang Mi long back but couldn't. He picked up the ring and admired it.

"Do you like that?" She asked.

"Yes. For the person I truly love!" He said glaring at her.

"I would like to purchase this."  He said to the person who was showing them the rings.

Taehyung decided to purchase the ring and give it to Jang Mi.

"Great! We finally chose a ring now for the engagement." His step mother exclaimed.

"Nope. I think you didn't hear me. That ring is for the person I truly love and not for my forced engagement." He said and stormed out.

His step mother was taken aback by the sudden change in his behavior.

What happened to him suddenly? He was listening to everything we said till now.

She rolled her eyes and purchased some other ring for the engagement.
