Chapter XVI

"So what did you want to tell me?" Jungkook asked Jang Mi as he licked his ice cream, sitting down on one of the benches at the park.

Jang Mi told him about how Taehyung's step mother threatened her about hurting her parents. Jungkook was shocked.

"What?!!! Really?!"

Jang Mi nodded. She thought of telling it to Jungkook because he might be able to help her with something.

"How evil is she ugh!" He was really angry.

"So you think you can help me with this?!"

"I will help you Jang Mi but we need to figure out something. How can we save your parents plus get you and Taehyung back together." He tapped his finger on his chin like his thinking something.

"I can't think of anything now. Let me drop you home for now."

Jang Mi agreed and they left.

Next day, Anna went to her parents. She was scared that they will be very angry but she had to do this. She thought about it the whole night and she had decided on something. She regretted not doing this earlier.

"Dad. Mom. I wanted to talk to you both."

They all sat in the hall.

"Mom and dad. I am aware that what I am going to say will affect you both maybe you will be angry but I need to say this before it's too late."

Both her parents looked at her, confusingly.

"What is it?!" Her mom asked.

Anna took a deep breath before speaking.

"I don't want to marry Taehyung!"

There. She said it.

"What?"

"Is this a prank?!"

Anna shook her head.

"I love someone else. I realized it too late. I am sorry but I don't want to marry Taehyung."

The Lees were shocked after listening to their daughter's confession.

"Do you realize what you are saying?!!"
Her dad asked.

"What is wrong with you? You both are already engaged!!"

Anna was scared, what if her parents don't agree with her decision of not wanting to marry Taehyung. But then she had a little hope because her parents were the cool ones and they always supported her.

"We asked if you want to marry Taehyung. We did it with your permission." Her dad sighed. "Who is the guy you love?!"

She looked at her dad.

"Jungkook..."

Her mom and dad were surprised.

"What?! Really?!"

Anna told them that they were dating before but she broke up with Jungkook because she agreed to marry Taehyung.

"So now you realize that you genuinely love him? Right?!"

"Yes." Anna answered.

"Honey. What do we do now?!" Her mom asked her father.

"If our daughter won't be happy with the guy, we shouldn't force her. Also, Jungkook is a good guy. Our families know each other really well. Now that I see it, Jungkook would have been a perfect match. Why didn't I think of him earlier!"
