So I heard about the death of Monty Oum yesterday when it was announced... I meant to write this sooner but I haven't had the time or been in the mental state. So here it is.

When I first got into rooster teeth (3 years ago) I went to the SXSW gaming expo in Austin. Specifically to see them. I got to the booth, and there stood Matt, Barbara and Monty. I had remembered Monty from past videos and always thought he was awesome. I found out he was a creator in red vs blue, and I knew how amazing he was. At the time I didn't meet him because of the excessive crowds and lack of time, but seeing him there made everything real. Not seeing him on the other side of the camera.

It really shook me when I found out about Monty...it was hard to believe at first. It still is but I've come to terms with it. Monty was such and inspiration to everyone, even the ones who weren't animators or of that nature. But he taught everyone that we can achieve things, no matter how impossible they seem.

My condolences to the rooster teeth community, the workers, and of course Monty's wife and family. He fought and fought, but sometimes you fight and loose. Though he lost, he had an amazing life. Support from the community and everyone around him, strengthened him to be as he was. The awesome, amazing, and brilliant person he was.

His memory will forever be in our hearts and on the rooster teeth content. I ask of everyone to donate to his medical fund, and thank everyone who did. Not many of us knew him personally, but we fell in love with his amazing talents and him.

RIP Monty Oum...you'll never be forgotten.
