Narrator POV
After Megan finished getting a tour of the house she put on her scrubs and got ready for her first group therapy session. Today she would have to confront her biggest fear, her sexuality.
Everyone in the program gathered around, in a yellow room, in a half circle surrounding a single chair in the middle. Megan sat with her back touching the back of the chair and her head held high. She didn't belong her and she wasn't going to let these people think she was one of them.
The first to stand up was a boyish looking girl wearing the same uniform as Kacie. She has a bushy eyebrows and a slight mustache. She had cut her hair bald and was a bit heavy set which didn't make her conventionally attractive.
"Hi Megan, Uh- I'm Ari. I'm a softball player and I'm a homosexual." her soft voice spoke
After Ari sat down a blonde haired, Texan, beauty queen stood up "Hi, I'm Emma, I really like fashion, and I'm...I'm a homosexual"
Standing up after Emma a pale boy with a blue kippah and an all blue uniform, said "I'm Joel. I'm Jewish and I'm a homosexual."
The male uniforms were similar to the girls, the only difference was, the boys wore long pants instead of skirts and they dressed in all blue.
Another boy wearing similar clothing stood next to Joel "Giovanni. Actor, Dancer, Homosexual" the feminine boy smiled.
"We met" Bryce mumbled without standing up.
"Bryce!" Catherine reprimanded.
"I'm Bryce, and I like girls a lot, and I'm a homosexual" she said making sure to emphasize "a lot" as she stared into Megan's eyes. She knew what she was doing and Megan didn't like it one bit.
"Ben, Homosexual, Varsity Wrestler" a slightly buff Asian boy declared.
"Hi I'm Evan, uh- I work retail and I'm a homosexual" A tall blonde haired golden boy breathed out.
"It's time for your first disclosure, and don't be intimidated. Why don't you start by telling us about the first time you realized you might be a lesbian?" Catherine suggested.
"I'm not" Megan chuckled, looking around the room. "Everyone just thinks that I am, I shouldn't even be here."
The rest of the teens around the circle stared at her with pity or with amusement.
"That's a perfectly normal place to start. Why don't we discuss the issue in your intervention?" Catherine reassured.
"Well...I'm a vegetarian...I have pictures of women around."
"And you think that's normal?" Ari spoke up.
"Sure,...I mean- I guess I never really thought about it." Megan answered.
"Have you ever had a boyfriend?" Catherine asked.
"Yes, actually, we've been to together for 2 years. I really love him" Megan smiled to herself. "He's smart, popular-"
"And he's got the biggest dick I've never seen" Bryce interrupted her.
"Have you ever...had sex with him?" Kacie asked.
"I was raised to save myself for marriage" Megan responded.
"It's really easy to be a prude when you're not attracted to him isn't it?" Kacie laughed.
Megan thought about for a moment before saying "He's very handsome."
"But does he get you all hot and bothered?" Giovanni pushed. "I mean, do you think of him at night when you...ya know"
Gasping slightly "I'm not perverted. I get good grades, I go to church, I'm a cheerleader." Megan yelled, causing Bryce to look up subtly and smirk.
"I'm not like all of you. Everyone listens to girl in red, Everyone looks at other girls all the time"
"But you only assume that they're thinking what you're thinking when they look, but they're not." Ben commented.
Suddenly a flood of thoughts poured into Megan's head. She could remember as far back as 3rd grade, finding girls attractive, but she just brushed it off as admiring them. That was it. Whenever she would stare at a pretty girl and feel an instant anxiety in the pit of her stomach she just blamed it on admiration. She didn't like girls she just thought they were really pretty, just like everyone else. But what if it was more than that.
It wasn't just admiration and Megan knew that. The way Megan wanted nothing more than to be in Alison's arms right now, wasn't admiration. The way she craved her lips, like a drug, wasn't admiration. Admiration isn't staring at each feature in her face and becoming infatuated with every little line. Admiration isn't getting jealous when someone else has access to her in ways only you want. Admiration isn't spending hours of the day dreaming about all the things that happened at your sleepover while listing to jake25.17. She's never looked at her boyfriend, of 2 years, the way she looks at Alison. Megan has felt more butterflies, in the first 5 minutes of meeting Bryce, than she's ever felt with Ryan.
In middle school she barley even noticed Ryan was there because she was too busy drooling over the girls. Sure she thought Ryan was an amazing athlete, he was handsome, he was kind, and he was really funny but whenever they kissed she felt nothing. It wasn't even like one of those friends with benefits kiss, like when you don't really feel love but you feel lust. That was admiration. All she felt for Ryan, or any boy, was admiration. She liked girls. She loved girls smiles, girls delicate hands, the way girls walked, boobs. She liked girls.
A/N: don't you just love when WOMEN
Fresh off the truck of reality Megan looked up and uttered "I thought everybody had those thoughts. I just wanna be normal."
"So you admit you're not normal? Why don't you admit you're a homosexual?" Catherine stood next to Megan, almost as if to brace her.
Megan looked around the room, coming face to face with 8 pairs of eyes staring at her. With a shaky breath and tight lungs Megan proclaimed "I'm a homosexual"
Tears running down her face "I'M A HOMOSEXUAL!" Megan yelled once more.
A/N: not her saying homosexual, couldn't she had said lesbian or something.
You're the one that wrote it.
A/N: Yea because I thought it was gonna be funny, it's just...awkward.
Awkward- Chile anyways so,
Grabbing Megan by the shoulders "You have just taking your first step in your True Direction" Catherine declared.
The silence in the room was broken by an outburst of applause. This has to be the worst moment in Megan's life and she was being congratulated. Everyone, except, Bryce, stood up and engulfed Megan in a hug. Tears pouring down her face, all Megan could do was tremble. Through her vibrating hiccups Megan whispered "I'm a homosexual"
Bryce, still seated across from her, stared at her with no emotion on her face. She just stared at Megan blankly. Looking back at Bryce, Megan stared blankly. Neither one knew the others emotions but frankly Megan was too distraught to care.
Breaking away from the group hug, Catherine picked up the neatly folded uniform from her chair and handed them over to Megan. "You can finally change into these"
After a few more seconds of hovering over Megan Catherine added "Why don't we all get ready for lunch and give Megan some alone time."
Everyone made their way out of the conversation room leaving a sobbing Megan behind. A lingering Bryce stood up from her seat and slowly made her way towards the disaster of a girl. "Good job on your first step homo"
All in one breathe, Megan stopped sobbing as she looked up at the smiling girl "jokey joke" she added before leaving the room.
