"get up."

hisashi sneers at izuku in disgust, who's on all fours on the ground, trying to hold back his breakfast. he loosens up his red tie and then unbuttons the two top buttons of his white work shirt, a disgusted look on his face. he calmly walks over to izuku, his footsteps echoing throughout the empty warehouse.

"i told you to get up, izuku," hisashi says lowly, looking at izuku with angry, dark brown eyes. "suddenly you don't want to listen to me? i'm your dad."

"i-i'm sorry," izuku holds back his tears, having learned his lesson about crying the other day. i won't cry in front of dad. not ever again. "i didn't mean to fall asleep at kacchan's house. i just...wanted to see him."

"i told you to come back in an hour. you never came back. do you understand how worried i was?" hisashi sighs, crouching down next to izuku. he places his index finger under izuku's chin and firmly tilts izuku's head up, forcing him to make eye contact with him. "izuku. you shouldn't bother the bakugos like that anymore."

"y-yes, dad." izuku shakily nods his head as he starts to get up from the floor, ignoring the growing pain on his side.

hisashi gets up quicker than izuku and lands a kick to izuku's side. he ignores izuku's pained cry as the boy falls back to the ground, landing a kick to izuku's stomach. "let this be a lesson to never go against my rules."

izuku closes his eyes as he clutches his stomach, his knees bleeding from falling on the concrete ground too hard. i said i wouldn't cry in front of dad and i won't.

"pathetic," hisashi scoffs, his dark brown eyes narrowing down at izuku with disgust. he grabs izuku's hair harshly, forcefully pulling the young boy up. "if you can't even take this how do you expect to become a hero?"

he sighs exaggeratedly, rolling his eyes when he hears izuku's quiet whimpers. "you know i love you, izuku. i'm doing this to help you become strong," hisashi lets go of izuku's hair, letting the boy fall back to the ground. "get changed. you have dance practice. there are some makeup and bandaids in the locker area to hide those bruises. don't make me wait."

izuku only smiles and nods when the other dancers in his class ask if he fell while skateboarding again.

katsuki knows the smiles are fake and notices how izuku's face shoots up in pain whenever they start dancing for the rest of the week.

3 months later.

katsuki has been getting meaner at school.

izuku pretends not to notice how his best friend has started hanging out with other classmates, ones who sometimes will make fun of his 'quirkless' status. now, izuku isn't jealous. i'm not. but, he can't help but feel hurt seeing his best friend hang out with his bullies. well...it's not like kacchan knows about the bullying. he knows about the teasing but not the bullying. i don't want to bother him with that.

he pretends not to notice the slight flinching katsuki does whenever izuku goes near him. he pretends not to notice how katsuki has been talking less and less to him every passing day. he pretends not to care when katsuki slaps his hand away when he offers his hand when katsuki falls down in the river during recess. he pretends not to notice how katsuki's 'friends' start laughing when katsuki turns him away.
