locked out of heaven

summary: two years pass and katsuki, izuku, mari, aya, and toshiaki are giving their teachers a headache. hisashi and izuku continue their training, but over the years izuku has gotten a bit sharp-tongued. the squad gets into some trouble but izuku pays the price. izuku and shoto continue meeting up, making it their own little secret. it's also wintertime! and after many years...katsuki finds out.

2 years later.

izuku wants to cry.

today has been a bad day for him.

now, it hadn't started off bad. in fact, izuku had woken up in a good mood. he had a rare good night's rest and woke up all cozy in his all might blankets. he also wasn't woken up harshly, his father having left the night before for a business trip. this was enough to make izuku cheerful, for his dad would be gone for the next two days, meaning no training.

izuku had left for school earlier and taken a different route to avoid his dad's bodyguards (at this point, he's pretty sure they're bodyguards) and hummed all the way to school. he hadn't even encountered any bullies on his way there! (looking back, it was probably because of how cold it was that morning.)

arriving at school, he met with katsuki, aya, mari, and toshiaki. all five walked to class together and izuku mentally thanked them for that. it was rare that he'd get attacked by his bullies when he was with them.

katsuki had snorted at something aya had said to toshiaki while waiting for class to start. seeing katsuki laugh so hard that he snorted made izuku's morning even better. mari then offered some cookies she had made at home, making izuku nearly cry since it had been a while since he had such a sweet treat.

truly, it had been one of the best mornings izuku had had in several years.

lunchtime had ruined that in no time flat.

aya had gotten the brilliant idea to play a prank on their homeroom teacher. mari had acted indifferent to the proposal but her eyes held mischief as she helped aya take out several pins. toshiaki had been alarmed to see the pins, concerned that it would actually hurt their teacher. katsuki had called them all idiots and had begun walking to the cafeteria, only to stop and give in when aya yelled that he was a coward. izuku had offered to set up the pins, gaining a surprised look from katsuki.

izuku usually avoids trouble, since being known as the school's quirkless, useless, deku was enough to garner unnecessary attention to him. once, izuku had tried to use the self-defense moves his dad had taught him against some bullies but it had only gotten him in more trouble, as the bullies had twisted it to have themselves be the victims. since then, izuku had avoided fighting back, allowing his classmates to hit him as much as they'd like. izuku didn't mind as long as they let out their frustrations on him and not his friends.

so, when izuku volunteered to set up the pins on the teacher's chair he received surprised looks from not only katsuki but toshiaki and mari as well. aya had been delighted to hear izuku volunteer and had immediately shoved the case of pins into izuku's hands.

now, izuku knew the pins wouldn't harm their teacher. their teacher has a quirk that when prodded with a sharp thing, their skin would turn into gooeyness. no, izuku wasn't doing this to see his teacher scream out in surprise; he was doing it to find out more about his teacher's quirk. since the beginning of the year, izuku had been curious to see exactly what and how his teacher's quirk could be set off. aya's "prank" was the perfect opportunity to do so!
