calm before the storm

summary: hisashi comes home and the sleepover comes to an end!

warnings: slight mention of anxiety attacks, nightmares. 

"dad!"

a small body crashes into hisashi as he opens the door, a high-pitched squeal reaching his ears. he can hear his wife's soft giggling as he looks down at his legs. izuku? oh. since when did he get an all might onesie? wait, why...are there two?

"hey, uncle!"

ah. the bakugos are back. hisashi grins as he drops his suitcase, picking up both boys swiftly. "well, hello! why aren't you two in bed yet? it's late!" he presses a quick, gentle kiss to izuku's forehead as a greeting

"we wanted to wait for you!" izuku smiles widely, making his eyes crescent-shaped. hisashi looks at katsuki, who gives him a small smile and nods.

"silly boys," hisashi laughs as he closes the door with the back of his foot. "katsuki, when did you and your parents get back?" he asks as he begins walking to the kitchen, spotting inko warming up some dinner for him.

"yesterday! that's why i'm sleeping over today," katsuki explains, before sighing, "you should have come with us to the mall!"

"i would've but i had to work," hisashi pouts before breaking into a smile, "but...since i didn't go...what did you three do at the mall?" he immediately sees izuku's and katsuki's eyes light up as they excitedly recount their day out. he listens attentively, nodding his head every now and then and adding little comments. he quietly greets inko as he enters the kitchen, still carrying the two boys.

"hi, baby," he murmurs as he kisses inko, pulling away just as izuku and katsuki start making grossed-out noises.

"yuck!"

"that shit is nasty, uncle!" katsuki sticks out his tongue, and izuku nods in agreement, his disapproval of kisses seemingly overriding his disapproval of katsuki's swears. 

inko rolls her eyes, a soft smile on her face, "you know, maybe it is gross for you two right now! but when you get older, and i mean much older, you two will find someone to do this 'yucky' stuff with."

izuku shakes his head fervently before sticking one of his fingers in his mouth and pretending to gag.

"no way, auntie! not me!" katsuki wrinkles his nose, looking disgusted at the thought.

"you two are too cute!" inko giggles and hisashi joins in with his own laughter.

a sudden gasp interrupts the laughter, making the adults turn towards the sound. izuku is pointing at the television in the living room, his eyes wide with adoration and awe.

"it's all might! look, dad, it's all might!" izuku clasps his hands together as he watches all might fight multiple villains at once. katsuki has the same awe sparkling in his red eyes, his mouth slightly agape.

hisashi smiles softly, watching the news reporter give a quick summary of the incident. his ears perk up as he hears izuku start mumbling under his breath, holding back a laugh. damn, he mutters just like i do. "all might is amazing, huh?"

"he's the best!"

"of course! 'zu and i are going to be heroes! we're going to be better than all might!" katsuki exclaims with a big smile on his face, pumping a fist up.

hisashi sharply turns his head to his right, looking at katsuki. his eyes are wide with his surprise, the corners of his lips turned down slightly. "really?" he glances at izuku then at inko, who nods her head.
