Emmett is sprawled out in the grass near Gemma and her friends while Jessica and Gem pop a volleyball back and forth, practicing since Gemma is new to the volleyball team, and the writer of the school paper. Mike is sitting beside him and Eric is studying prom advertisements while Angela takes pictures of Gemma and Angela for the yearbook.
"Monte Carlo?" Jess complains; the past week, Emmett has been hanging with them, she's gotten used to him being around her her not swooning over him. "That's our prom theme?"
"Gambling, tuxedos and - - Bond. James - - ow!" He yelps suddenly when Jessics pops the ball and makes it hit him in the face, making Emmett belt out an amused laugh and he high-gives Mike.
Emmett sits up when Edward's Volvo pulls up, Edward and Bella get out. He exhales and everyone else starred at Angela's very dramatic, 'oh. my. god,' moment. The now very public couple wall across the parking lot, Edward's arm draped over her shoulder.
"I guess there's no denying that now," Mike comments.
"I guess not," Emmett replies as he stands up. "Gem, I'll walk you to class."
Gemma gives her friends each a hug and tells Jessica she'll see her in class before she interlocks her fingers with Emmett's. Emmett swings their arms back and forth playfully, making her laugh happily at him and he smiles just as wide as he walks Gemma to Mr. Molina's class.
"I'll see you later," Emmett says.
Gemma kisses Emmett on the cheek before going into the classroom. She greets Molina with a cheery tone and she sits at her table right as Alice skips in with Jasper trailing behind her. Not long after them, the rest of the class piles in and the final bell rings. ⚜️⚜️⚜️
Gemma lays in her bed that night and she stares at the ceiling. Emmett is hunting for a little while with a Chamberlin and Alice. Chamberlin manned up and apologized to Gemma for upsetting her, and she forgave him. Rosalie hadn't worked up the nerve to even try talking to Gemma yet.
Gem closes yet blue eyes and she hints hf her and Emmett's first kiss. She touches her lips as a smile forms. She remembers how she had butterflies, fireworks, and so much more when their lips connected. Her blue eyes snap open.
