Chapter 26

Sam and Emily's place is a nice cabin in the woods with a front porch decorated with flower pots and a table along with a two metal chairs. Paul, Sam, and Jacob phase and leave the tres in their shorts.

Jacob stops beside Gemma when Paul and Sam go inside. "Don't stare at Emily," he warns.

Gemma nods, and she follows Jacob into the living room of the house. She immediately is greeted with the smell of a vanilla inscent, and blueberry muffins. Here she was thinking her mom made excellent blueberry muffins.

Jacob laughs out loud when Gemma's belly growls and he looks at her. "Come on," he urges.

Gemma follows Jacob into the kitchen where the other 'wolves' are. Sam has kissed the beautiful scarred woman. Paul and Jared are stuffing their faces. Embry looks at Gemma with wide, puppy dog brown eyes.

"You must be Gemma," Emily greets. "I'm Emily, Sam's fiancée."

"Ye-yeah, I'm Gemma," Gem claims.

Emily grabs the bowl of tree remaining muffins. "I'm sorry; the guys are part pigs."

"They'd love my house at Thanksgiving then," Gemma claims, feeling a little more confident. "My mom and I cook enough for a pack of starving wolves."

Jared snorts at the pun. "Really? Oh, I'm Jared. This is Paul. You apparently know Embry, sam, and Jacob."

Emily shushes them and holds the bowl out. "Muffin?"

"Thank you," Gemma says as she grabs one. "I make a good white chocolate macadanin cookie."

This makes Paul lift his head. "Really?"

"Gemma," Sam interrupts. "We should talk."

Gemma sighs and she nods before picking a piece of the muffin off. "Yeah. We should."

Sam leads Gemma into the living room, the others follow and they talk to Gemma.

"I am so, so, so sorry!" Bella belts out when Gemma enters her room.

"You were blinded by terror, I understand," Gemma coos. "The wolves didn't touch me," she lies. "We're still best friends, Bella. I understand."

Bella embraces Gemma, she was so scared for her when Laurent was about to turn her. Gemma smiles as she embraces Bella in return. The friends pull apart and Bella tells Gemma about her illusions of Edward and when she usually gets them.
