It's been a few weeks since the Newton family went to Port Angeles and it's now the beginning of November. Mike and Gemma have been going to school, making the most of their senior year. But today, Karen has a very important and possibly life changing doctor's appointment. Both of the of her teenagers have excused themselves from school to be with her. 🌚🌚🌚

With Karen the front passenger's seat and Mike behind her own, Gemma drives them to the hospital where Karen had an appointment with Dr. Bloomingdale; who is the Newton family doctor who works out of Forks Community Hopsital.
Karen gets registered in while Mike walks over to the water fountain to get a drink. Gemma tries her best not to think about the Cullens. She hasn't been to the hospital since they left. Gem keeps thinking she'll see Carlisle leave the emergency room in his doctor clothes and then they'd be back, but she's not much of a fan of wishful thinking.
Karen has been in partial remission from cancer since Henry died, and today, she's having some tests run because she has been having similar, flu-like symptoms she had a few months prior to her cancer diagnosis. Dr. Bloomingdale is worried, so are Mike and Gemma.
Karen sits beside Gemma and Mike sits on the other side of their mom. Karen grabs both of her kid's hands.
"Karen Newton?"
Karen kisses both her kids on their heads and she walks to the back. 🌚🌚🌚
"My results will be back in a few days," Karen says. "But I do have a bad cold."
"Let's get you home and in Jer," Mike says. "Gem can go and get you some cold meds."
Karen nods her head and she sneezes real big, and loud. Both of her teems grimace and they get her into Gemma's truck and Gemma drives them home.

A couple of days later, Gemma, Mike, and Karen are all at the store when school lets out for the day, waiting on customers, when Karen's cellphone rings. She goes to the back to talk to Dr. Bloomingdale and she's crying when she comes back.
"I'm in full remission!" Karen exclaims.
Everyone in the store, Mike, and Gemma all start cheer. Gemma and Mike rush forward and they hug each other in pure joy.
