I don't know what it was, but the happiness had run out. It felt like I was in my car again driving around because I had nothing better to do. Andy seemed happier than ever, but I didn't feel it. It was like a black cloud had suddenly returned pulling all the light out and leaving me in a downcast point of view.

"Hey, we don't have to go if you don't want to." Skyler's reluctant pitch pulled me back into the reality of where we were. My in the passenger seat of his car on the way to some kind of shop. We had both eaten at a cute little restaurant, consisting of football conversation and small talk. Normal date things I would suppose.

"What did you say?" I asked in an apologetic tone.

"Do you wanna go do the soap making thing with me?"

"Yeah," I smiled. "It's whatever you want to do."

"Look," Skyler sighed. "I know you're not feeling this date. I can tell you're just glum, but we don't have to call it a date if that makes you feel better. It can just be friends hanging out together."

At the gala, I wanted to go on a date with Skyler simply because I was hurt. But now I wasn't hurt anymore, more of just depressed and tired of getting rejected. Maybe part of me knew I needed to move on, pushing me to go out with Skye as an attempt.
