I found myself at the end of Ryan's hospital bed. My head laid on my arm as I lazily skimmed over the skin of his ankle. His sock was hospital blue matching the awkward robe that came with it. All the other boys had been in and out since they brought Ryan out of surgery. Most of them had to go back to their lives. Girlfriends and boyfriends wondering where they were, along with jobs and other priorities, while my only priority was laying in front of me hanging by a dripping IV thread. I couldn't believe how willing I was to leave him all but twenty-four hours ago when in the moment by his side is the only place I ever wanted to be.

"Andy..."

My eyes fluttered shut knowing visiting hours for the ICU were coming to end. Leaving was going to be the hardest part, because I wasn't ready to do it. This had all been caused because I said I was leaving and I felt the extreme guilt set in because of it. I never wanted to leave again, even if it was just for the night. Not unless Ryan was coming with me.

"I'll go in a minute," I whispered. "I have a night shift to work anyways."

"I was just coming to see if you needed anything."

My eyes reluctantly left Ryan's sleeping features to find Preston leaning against the doorway. He seemed stressed by the bags beneath his eyes, but that was normal after coming from a five-hour surgery. We had made up after my freak-out sex session sad face still lingering in my mind from the coffee shop.
