"Where are you staying tonight?" Andy asked in a whisper when his mom walked out of the room. The dinner table had been quiet, but calm. Unlike the last time I ate dinner with Andy's family.

"I was going to drive back tonight," I shrugged not phased by the statement. I hadn't planned on staying anywhere simply because I felt Andy would've forced me to leave the second I saw him. "Didn't exactly think you'd want to see me."

"I didn't want to see you," he sighed into his dessert plate, that being most of his dinner for the night. Although both Andy's mother and I complained about it he refused to eat anything but dessert. "But you're here now, so why don't you just stay."

"Why?" I asked suspiciously. "I'm fine to drive home, and you clearly don't want..."

"Alright boys," Andy's mom sighed walking back into the dining-room door. "I'm going to head off to bed, if that's alright."

"Yeah," Andy smiled, his mom leaving a sweet kiss on the top of his head. "Don't worry about anything, we'll clean up."

"Thank you," she smiled walking over to kiss me like she did Andy. "And thank you for being here, Ryan. Missed seeing you, boys."
