"No Skyler, I don't owe you an explanation."
I woke up to the hushed sound of Ryan's voice. My body still on the couch, but a big blanket and pillow were with me now.
"Andy is a priority. You know that."
"Whatever, we aren't together anymore so is there anything else, cause I need to go."
If he was talking to Skyler, I now had about a million questions. Despite knowing I was always his priority, what did he mean they weren't together?
I listened to Ryan hang up a minute later, his sigh being heard from where I was on the couch. I continued to act as if I was asleep when he walked back to me.
A hand was placed in my hair before I felt him kiss my cheek softly, the words I love you being said into my ear. It was the first time I had heard it a long time. The three words that had always left me feeling completely blissful.
"I love you more," I said with a smile my eyes staying closed.
"How long have you been awake?" Ryan asked a caught off guard.
"Not long," I said.
My body was carefully turned to face Ryan, who was now sitting on the floor next to the couch. His eyes looked weary, the circles beneath them only adding to his stressed appearance. I let my hand reach his face. His skin being just as soft as I last remember touching it. He leaned into my touch taking ahold of my palm to kiss it after a moment.
