⚠️Brief traumatic background and Smut⚠️

The house shimmered in the early morning light sun rays bouncing off the snow. Andy and Ryan were tucked tightly in next to each other sound asleep. The house didn't take long for it to feel like home for the both of them, especially with the new addition to their family.

"Dad! Old man! Parents!"

"Ryan," Andrew groaned pulling the blanket over his head. "Your offspring is awake."

Ryan scoffed, "it's your offspring."

"He looks like you," Andy protested.

"He's blond with blue eyes," Ryan chuckled. The two bickered while blatantly ignoring the bouncing six-year-old on the end of their bed.

"He's still your offspring."

"You guys are mean..." the child whined tugging the blanket his parents had burrowed beneath.

"We're sorry baby," Ryan gave in offering some space for the child to join their warmth. "But you did just wake us up at the ass crack of dawn."

"Ryan," Andy grumbled wrapping his arms around their child. "Language."

"Right."

"You guys do know what day it is right?"

"Saturday," they said in unison.

The child puffed out a breath letting both his parents cuddle him. Their warmth grew and was slowly lulling them all back to sleep, but the six-year-old energy persisted.

"It's Christmas Eve."

"Mm," Andy hummed.

"Old man!" The boy whined.

"Yes, Ezra. I'm awake, why are you?"

The little boy started off on a long ramble about the Christmas party they were attending later in the evening. Andy simply listened and ran a few fingers through his tiny blond strands. They were soon to be falling into his eyes, but the boy had protested about getting a haircut. It was a new style at school according to him. Ryan's arm stayed wrapped around the boy while also holding Andy's arm. His small little family was everything to him.

Ezra's babble slowly died out after a few minutes, replaced by slow rhythmic breaths. Andy continued his soft touches but looked up towards Ryan.

"You think he slept at all?"

Ryan sighed and placed a kiss on Ezra's forehead, the boy turned and curled into him snuggled down. "I don't know, might have gotten an hour then woke up too excited."

"It's better excited," Andy hummed. "It broke me when all he would do is wake up with nightmares."

Despite the two of them claiming Ezra as one of theirs, biologically he didn't share any DNA to either of them. Ezra grew up in the system since he was born and when they met him it was at the hospital. Ryan had twisted wrong when trying to make a goal and Andrew was shaking his head at Ryan's carelessness. He walked Ryan down the children's wing to go out the back to avoid press when Ezra bulldozed his way toward them. He latched on to Ryan for dear life. Ryan didn't exactly know how to react besides picking up the child who was barely the age of three.
