During the course of the term, I had gotten pretty close with Remus Lupin. He was a nice man, and it was easy to connect with him. The weeks flew by in a flash and soon it was October 31, Halloween. After the usual Halloween feast, everyone was leaving the great hall. I was walking through the halls with Remus, chatting about our classes when we saw Dumbledore hurrying towards us with a flood of students behind him, all looking fearful.

"What's going on Professor?" I asked.

Dumbledore looked at me grimly. "Sirius Black attacked the fat lady's portrait."

I gasped and Remus sucked in a sharp breath.

Dumbledore sighed and continued. "The students will be sleeping in the great Hall tonight. Fawn, Remus, I would like both of you to help patrol the castle."

Remus nodded. "Of course sir."

A few weeks later, I heard a knock at my office door.

"Come in!" I called.

The door opened and Remus walked in. "Good afternoon Fawn."

"So formal." I laughed, not taking my eyes off of the essays I was marking.

He perched himself at the edge of my desk. "I loved History of Magic when I was a student."

I grinned up at him. "Oh yeah?"

He nodded. "I bet you're more interesting than Professor Binns."

I smirked. "The only downfall is that I actually notice when people aren't paying attention in class."

It went silent for a few moments, the only sound coming from the scratching of my quill on the parchment paper.

"You married?" I asked out of boredom.

"No." he replied, looking slightly uncomfortable.

"Dating? In love? Engaged?"

"No, no, and no."

"Why?" I asked. "You're old."

Remus chuckled. "Personal reasons."

I shrugged. "I won't bug you to tell me."

"What about you?" he pushed my shoulder slightly.

"What about me?" I played dumb.

"Fawn...."

I leaned back in my chair and looked up at him. "I had someone. We dated for about eight years, before he broke up with me because he didn't want to deal with a long distance relationship."

"Oh, I'm sorry."

"It's okay. I'm over it." I lied.

The rest of the year passed by in a blur.

There was only a few days left for the schoolyear, so I decided to go to Remus' office and hangout with him for a bit. But when I went to his office, I saw that the door was slightly ajar and the room was empty. There was nothing on the table except for a map. I looked closely and saw my name, which was marked that I was in Remus' office.

"Woah, cool." I whispered.

I kept reading the map, looking at where everyone was, but my heart stopped when I noticed the names that were in the Shrieking Shack.

Remus, Harry, Ron, Hermione and Snape. But there were two other names that freaked me out.

Sirius Black and Peter Pettigrew.

I burst out of the room and ran to the shack. With my wand, I made a branch float and press on the tree stump, causing the Whomping Willow to stop thrashing it's branches. I quickly ran through the tunnel and ran up a staircase. I burst through the door with my wand raised.

With my loud and sudden entrance, everyone looked over at me with shock. I stared at the scene, and everyone stared back. Ron and Hermione were sitting together on the floor, huddled in a corner. Ron was clutching his leg while Harry, Remus and Sirius Black were standing in the middle of the room, above a small, ratty looking man I've never seen before.

I raised my wand to Black. "Back away from Harry," I growled, but Harry stopped me.

"No it's alright! He's alright! Don't!"

I kept my wand raised. "What? But he's here to kill you!"

Harry shook his head. "No he's here to kill Pettigrew, Pettigrew framed Sirius. Pettigrew is the real criminal. He's also the one who sold my parents out to Voldemort."

I noticed that Snape was laying in the floor, unconscious. "Wha-?"

Remus placed a hand on my arm. "I'll explain everything later."

Pettigrew crawled towards me. "Fawn! Fawn, please don't let them hurt me."

I backed away. "How do you know my name?" I demanded.

"Fawn, It's me. Scabbers."

I looked over at Ron, who nodded at me.

"It is," he said with disgust. "He's an Animagus. Pretended to be our pet rat so that he could hide from Black."

I looked back at Pettigrew, feeling horror dawn over me as I thought of the time I let Scabbers sleep on my pillow when young Percy had asked me to watch over Scabbers. Pettigrew reached out a hand and grasped the bottom of my shirt.

"Fawn, please. You know me. You helped Percy and Ron take care of me. You and Bill, you both made a wonderful couple."

I snarled. "You just said it. We made a wonderful couple. Past tense. Now get off me you creep!" I kicked him away from me.

Remus grabbed Pettigrew and Sirius made Snape float after us. I helped Hermione hold Ron up.

"So, what the hell happened?" I asked.

Hermione quickly explained everything.

"Wow, that's just crazy." I was at a loss for words.

We emerged from the Whomping Willow just as Remus let go of Pettigrew and let out a groan of pain.

"Remus are you alright?" I asked going forwards, but harry held me back.

"Oh no it's a full moon!" squealed Hermione.

"What? So?" I said.

But my question was answered when Remus started changing. His body was growing and getting hairy.

Remus is a werewolf.

Remus, now fully transformed, growled at us. Pettigrew grabbed a wand and with a bang, Sirius and Harry were knocked backwards before Pettigrew turned into a rat and scurried away.

"No he's getting away!" I exclaimed.

I heard someone yelling my name and turned around just in time to see Remus standing right in front of me, and then everything went black
