I woke up with a groan.
"Nice of you to join us," said a voice.
I looked over to see Remus sitting next to my bed.
"How long have I been out for?" I asked. "Where am I?"
He pursed his lips. "You've been out for almost two days. And you're in the Hospital Wing."
I looked around and sure enough, I was in the Hospital Wing.
"What happened?" I asked him.
Remus looked away. "While I was in my werewolf form, I attacked you."
"Oh,"
He looked back to me. "I'm so sorry, I really didn't mean to," he stopped and looked down at his hands. "I'm a monster."
I reached out and put my hand on top of his. "Remus, You are not a monster. I promise. It wasn't your fault."
He smiled grimly. "That's not what the parents think."
"What do you mean?"
He sighed. "Someone 'accidentally' let it slip that I'm a werewolf and that I attacked you. I got sacked. today"
My eyes widened. "What? But the students love you! Everyone said you're the best Defence Against the Dark Arts teacher."
He shrugged. "Well, the parents don't agree."
"Who let it slip?" I asked.
"Severus Snape,"
I felt anger lick at my heart. "Ugh, that long nosed git."
Remus chuckled.
"What happened to the others?" I asked.
Remus smiled. "Everyone is alright, Sirius managed to escape, with the help of Harry and Hermione."
I grinned. "Thank god."
A few days later, it was time to go back home. When we arrived at the Burrow, Mrs. Weasley gave me a bone-crushing hug. "Oh darling I heard what happened are you alright?"
I smiled. "Perfectly fine."
That evening, Mr. Weasley announced that he had gotten tickets to the Quidditch World cup. Everyone was super exited, except for Percy.
"I just don't see the point in Quidditch," Percy was telling me. We were both the only ones in the living room that night. I was knitting while he was writing a report for the ministry. Percy had become the personal assistant of Barty Crouch Sr.
"It's so much fun!" I said. "I loved playing it when I was on school."
Percy shrugged. "I've never found it interesting."
"That's because you're boringggggg." I sang out as Percy chuckled slightly.
A few days later, Mrs. Weasley announced that Bill, Charlie and Rue were coming over that night to spend the rest of the summer with us.
"Bill?" I said.
Mrs. Weasley smiled. "I know dear, but just try to give him a chance alright? It's been five years!"
I sighed. It was going to be a long summer.
When Bill, Charlie and Rue arrived, Rue practically flew at me. "OMG FAWN I'VE MISSED YOU SO FREAKING MUCH!"
I hugged her. "I'VE MISSED YOU TOO RUE!"
"Why are you two yelling? You guys are literally right in front of each other!" Charlie said, laughing as we walked over to us.
"Come here 'lil bro." I scooped Charlie into my arms, his red hair tickling my chin. He was still a head shorter than me. "Charlie, darling, you need to start growing."
He chuckled. "Or maybe you need to start shrinking."
I swatted his arm while Rue snorted with laughter. I looked up to see Bill and my heart quickened. Bill looked a little different. His hair was much longer than before, and he had a fang earring on one ear. He had grown taller. Even though he was skinny, he now had a muscular build. If it was even possible, he was probably even more handsome than last time I'd seen him.
"Er, hi." he said, smiling awkwardly at me.
I narrowed my eyes. "It's been five years and the only thing you have to say is hi?"
He looked taken aback. "Well-I, What am I supposed to say?"
I glared at him. "I don't know maybe all the things you've been telling everyone to tell me? Or was that all bullshit?"
Without waiting for his response, I turned on my heels and stomped out of the room. Dinner that night was an awkward time. Everyone kept looking between Bill and I. We were both trying to avoid each other as much as possible.
The next morning I woke up early. I went to the kitchen to find Charlie, Rue and Bill already there, with coffees in their hands.
"Here I made you a cup." said Rue, pushing a mug towards me.
"Thanks," I said, sitting on the kitchen counter.
"So tell us, anything new at Hogwarts?" Charlie asked.
I shook my head. "No, same old same old."
I noticed Bill was staring at me, his ears turning red, and I thought of an idea. I smirked and Rue noticed because she raised her eyebrows as if to say uh oh what are you going to do?
I looked back at her as if to say Don't worry just play along.
I took a sip of my coffee before saying "Oh yeah, there was a really cute professor last year."
Charlie's eyes widened and Bill choked on his coffee. Rue placed her hand on her mouth and tried to stop laughing.
"Who was it?" she asked.
"Remus Lupin."
"The werewolf?" Charlie said.
"Don't say it like that Charlie, he's a wonderful person. Werewolf or not."
Bill stood up angrily and left the kitchen. I broke down laughing, Rue joining in.
"What on earth-" Charlie said, looking between the two of us.
Rue looked at me. "Wait do you actually like this Remus guy?"
I shook my head. "No, he is actually really cute. But I have no interest in him."
Charlie raised an eyebrow. "Did you only say that to make Bill jealous?"
I nodded. "Did it work?"
Just then we all heard someone yelling out in anger and Mrs. Weasley shouting "BILL WHAT ARE YOU DOING STOP KICKING THINGS!"
We all snorted with laughter. "Pretty sure it worked,"
