Harry, Ron, Hermione, Luna, Dean, Griphook and Ollivander stayed with us for a while. Harry, Ron and Hermione were constantly talking together, but whenever any of us would walk by them, they'd be silent. They started taking their conversations out to the garden.
On the third day of the others arrival, as I was giving Griphook some food, he asked to see Harry, Ron and Hermione.
"Alright, I'll go get them." I said.
I walked out of the house and found them talking.
"Griphook wants to speak to you. He's in the smallest bedroom, he doesn't want to be overheard." I told them as I led them to the room. They went inside and I closed the door.
The days grew into weeks, and Harry, Ron and Hermione were always shut up in the room with Griphook. But no matter how much I asked, none of them would say a word about what they were doing or talking about. Bill however, never asked any questions, but he'd look at Harry with concern.
After Griphook's legs were mended, he still requested the food to be brought up to him. I got very irritated as I knew he could walk, so Bill told Griphook that he'd have to come downstairs to eat meals, although he refused to eat the same food, insisting, instead, on lumps of raw meat, roots, and various fungi.
"I'm sorry Fawn," Harry told me, one April evening as he helped me prepare dinner. "I never meant you to have to deal with all of this."
"It's alright Harry," I said kindly, as I cut up steaks for Griphook and Bill, who had preferred his meat bloody ever since he had been attacked by Greyback. I pointed my wand at the stove. "Mr. Ollivander leaves for Muriel's this evening. That'll make things easier. The goblin can stay I suppose, he can move downstairs and you, Ron and Dean can take that room."
"No, we don't mind sleeping in the living room." he said. "Don't worry about us."
"But-"
"We'll be off your hands soon, Ron, Hermione and I. We won't need to be here much longer."
"What are you talking about?" I asked. "You can't leave, you're safe here!"
Harry looked a bit scared when he saw my angry and worried face, but Luna and Dean came in with damp hair, carrying driftwood.
"... and tiny little ears," Luna was saying, "a bit like hippo's, Daddy says, only purple and hairy. And if you want to call them, you have to hum; they prefer a waltz, nothing too fast...."
Looking uncomfortable, Dean shrugged at Harry and I as he passed, following Luna into the combined dining and sitting room where Ron and Hermione were laying the dinner table. Harry grabbed two jugs of pumpkin juice and followed them. I grabbed some plates and followed them.
"... and if you ever come to our house I'll be able to show you the horn, Daddy wrote to me about it but I haven't seen it yet, because the Death Eaters took me from the Hogwarts Express and I never got home for Christmas," Luna was saying, as she and Dean relit the fire
"Luna, we told you," Hermione called over to her. "That horn exploded. It came from an Erumpent, not a Crumple-Horned Snorkack --"
"No, it was definitely a Snorkack horn," said Luna serenely, "Daddy told me. It will probably have re-formed by now, they mend themselves, you know."
Hermione shook her head and continued laying down forks as Bill appeared, leading Mr. Ollivander down the stairs. The wandmaker still looked exceptionally frail, and he clung to Bill's arm as the latter supported him, carrying a large suitcase.
"I'm going to miss you, Mr. Ollivander," said Luna, approaching the old man.
"And I you, my dear," said Ollivander, patting her on the shoulder.
