17-year-old woke Sunghoon woke up as the bell started to ring.

'Did I just fall asleep?'

Sunghoon shook his head as he wondered if what he had remembered was just a dream. It certainly felt like a dream. His whole life had been devoted to being the best academically. Sometimes, he felt his life was a shade of gray, deplete from anything colorful. But the memories he had just recalled...

It was the only time in his gray life that he had been able to catch just a glimpse of color. Just like an oasis fades into a mirage as you get further away, Sunghoon couldn't tell if that had actually happened.

'Jaeyoon'

Sunghoon had all but forgotten that name. But suddenly, he couldn't stop thinking about that boy with brown hair and brown eyes and an ever-glowing smile on his face.

He tried to think what triggered these thoughts, and traced his train of thought back and he remembered thinking to himself that Jake had made him feel the same way.

'Why would I think that? And why did that remind me of.... him?'

Sunghoon was so lost in his thoughts that he almost jumped out of his seat when he felt someone's hand on his shoulder.

He looked up to find his a pair of brown eyes looking at him in concern.

"Are you okay?" Jake asked, "You seem worried."

"Ah, he's probably just worried about the test we're about to see," Jay said as he took his seat in front of Sunghoon, "I told you all he cares about is his grades."

Jake didn't look convinced but sat down as their English teacher Mr. Kim entered the room.

"All right everyone! You all knew this was coming. This is going in your final grade so hope everyone studied."

"The vocabulary list you gave us is ridiculous! We're never going to use them in real life!" Jay protested.

Mr. Kim smiled.

"I'm surprised you even looked at the list Jay. Well, it is a relative evaluation so I guess that is one less person to  worry about," he said to the rest of the class.

The rest of the class started to laugh at the chemistry between the rich care-free student and the teacher who accepted the student's attitude. Jay may not get perfect grades, but he had a way with people and a knack for getting on their good side.

Sunghoon tensed as Mr. Kim started to hand out the test.

"Okay guys, eyes on your own paper. Oh, and Jake don't bother looking at the person next to you. Sometimes, he doesn't even write his name."

Mr. Kim said while playfully hitting Jay on the shoulder.

Sunghoon breathed in deeply as he was handed the test and slowly started to skim the pages. He could do this. He had been studying for days. What if he had dosed off earlier, he was the best student in his class. Of course he would ace the test.
