The Station

Ga'tok was set to be deployed in Eadu, the rainiest place he had ever heard of. He wished he could find Liana and bid her farewell, but the time was already over. She never loved him as he had her.

He and other comrades marched into the transport ship and buckled in. All of the troopers at his station were set to leave Kafrene at different times. Some had already left for different planets, leaving their brothers and sisters to keep the peace in the trading center. Two more transports were waiting for the last of the troopers, showing off the strength of the Empire to all those who dared oppose it.

The shuttle waited and waited for the last of the other troopers to arrive. Eventually, the pilot got a call. "Pull out, no more forces will be joining you today. Dock in Death Star"

They landed in the hangar bay of the Death Star. Everyone stood up as a deck officer greeted them.

"This way to your temporary living quarters." He led them through the corridors to the barracks. Ga'tok had never been stationed on the Death Star, and he was glad he wasn't.

Ga'tok was ready to take a small rest before regrouping to go to Eadu, he was tired. Griz, his roommate, came in and threw his helmet onto the cot.

"Just like a prison," was all he said. Ga'tok gave a small smile and Griz returned it.

A knock came from the door and Ga'tok moved to open it. A trooper stood, "Ga'tok Leese is needed by Captain Tora in command."

"Thank you trooper." The trooper gave a quick nod and walked off. Griz gave a small pat on Gatok's rear.

Ga'tok sucked in a breath and put his helmet on. Why did his Captain need him? He stepped out of the cramped quarters and started up to command. Marie Tora was known to be particularly easy on her troopers but that was in comparison to the other Captains. All of the Captains were strict.

"Captain Tora," Ga'tok said, standing stick straight. Tora was at ease but didn't invite Ga'tok to assume the position.

"Trooper," was her reply. "It has come to my attention that you were having a romantic affair with a citizen of the planet you were stationed at, while on duty."

"Yes sir." There was no point in lying, she would find out anyway.

"And you failed to communicate this information to your superiors?"

"Yes sir."

"How come?"

"I didn't want her to be monitored and she didn't know I was a stormtrooper."

"You're lucky I'm only letting you off with a warning, others would be harsher."

"Yes sir."

"What's her name trooper? We need to add this to your records."

"Liana Halik sir."

"You are dismissed."

"Thank you, sir." Ga'tok saluted and walked back to the barracks.

"Be aware that Director Krennic may wish to speak with you," Captain Tora called after him as streaks of light blue moved quickly through the window's vision.
