The first task was in two days, and Harry and Ron were still not talking. And nor were Fred and Laura. She had been spending some time with George whenever they had matching free periods, but whenever Fred was around, George left her to spend time with him.

"It's dragons," Harry blurted out as he sat down the Slytherin table next to his sister. Laura blinked, letting her book fall on the table.

"Excuse me?"

"The first task, its got something to do with dragons," he explained.

"You've got to fight a dragon?" Her voice sounded worried, which seemed reasonable, considering their situation. "Are you kidding?"

"I wish. Help me, Laura. I don't know what to do." Harry spoke anxiously.

"Have you talked to Hermione?"

"She doesn't know how to fight a dragon either, but Moody kind of suggested I could summon my broom."

"I thought you weren't allowed a broom,"

"That's what I said, but he insisted on me using my wand, so I guess I could use it to summon it? I mean, hes a professor, he would just say that to lead me the wrong way, right?"

"I guess," Laura shrugged. To be honest, she didn't really trust professor Moody. He hadn't done anything wrong, she just had a strange feeling about him. "You could ask Ron about it, I'm pretty sure his brother Charlie works with dragons."

"Or you could ask him for me, like the good and loving sister you are," Harry suggested with a tentative smirk.

"No thank you. Ask Ginny. Or the Twins. There's seven of them," Laura reminded him.

"Only four go to ours school and only one is in speaking terms with us," Harry sighed. "And even Ginny has been hanging out with Ron so I haven't seen her much."

"Well, you can still ask her. Or the twins, George would certainly help you. All I can tell you is: don't die. And don't get too badly burned."

"Yeah, thanks."

The day of the first task had arrived, and Laura walked to the champion's tent with Hermione. Just as they approached it from the back, Hermione heard something.

"Harry, is that you?"

"Yeah," Harry whispered back.

"How are you feeling? The key is to concentrate," Hermione tried to calm him down. "After that, you just have to-"

"Battle a dragon."

The girls could hear the fear in his voice, and before she could stop herself, the griffyndor girl entered the tent and engulfed Harry in a hug. A camera flashed right before Laura could walk in.

"Oh, young love!" Rita Skeeter's annoying voice squeaked.

"Oh, Merlin's sake," Laura mumbled under her breath not wanting to become the center of attention, especially when Rita Skeeter was present.

"You are not welcome here," Viktor Krum came to their aid. "This tent is for Champions only... and friends," he added when he saw Hermione.

The adults soon came back into the tent, ushering both Rita and the girls out. Dumbledore then came out and announced the task. They were to fight the dragon and retrieve the golden egg that laid in its nest.

The first champion out was Cedric. He succeeded the task, but not before having burned half of his face and his entire arm. Laura almost ran off to the infirmary, but decided to stay to see her brother fight.

It was the most stressful thing she had ever experienced. His dragon not only was the strongest and most dangerous, but it broke free and it flew after Harry through the school grounds.

As soon as he was done and had fled the dragon, Harry went back to the tent where Laura was waiting for him. She engulfed him in a big hug.

"I'm so glad you're okay," she spoke, her voice muffled in his neck.

"Ow," he complained when she squeezed him a bit too hard. "Can you let me go?"

"No," she snapped. "You're about to go celebrate your win in the Gryffindor common room and I have to go back to Slytherin and listen to Malfoy and his sulking. Let me hug you."

Harry laughed, but didn't complain any further. He wrapped his arms tighter around her sister, glad to be safe for the time being.
