They had been to London to buy her stuff at the shops. Laura already had a wand, an owl, her books and her robes, and she was heading to King's Cross' train station, to take the train to Hogwarts. Laura's adoptive mother was so happy and proud of her little girl. Even if they'd been together for less than five years, Mr. And Mrs. Angelo considered Laura as their own daughter.

They arrived at the Platform 9 3/4 and Laura stopped. Mrs. Angelo took her by the hand and squeezed it, promising her everything was going to be okay. Meanwhile, her brother Rory had his things and her father had hers. They were both already on the other side of the wall.

"You'll be fine, Laurie. Hogwarts is a great school. You will love it," Mrs. Angelo said to her.

"How do you know? You haven't even been there!" Laura retorted. "How can you know?"

"You haven been there either, sweetie," she replied with a warming smile. "It is a good school, your brother studies there."

"Yeah... fine..."

"Let's go," she said. "You'll be late."

Laura closed her eyes and they ran through the wall. Laure asked herself how come no muggles ever saw them doing that.

Anyway, they made their farewells and Laura got on the train. Her brother, being her brother, went with his friends, leaving her behind. Laura walked through the whole train, and couldn't find any places to sit. While she was walking for the second time, a brunette girl came to her.

"Do you have a place to sit?" She asked. The girl had a warm smile, that Laura thought to be trustworthy.

"Erm no, I don't," Laura explained. "My brother won't let me sit with him."

"Older brother?" The girl asked.

"Yeah. Fourth year."

"Well. I'm Hermione, I'm in my second year. You can't come and sit with me and my friend, if you want."

"I would love to, thank you."

As they walked towards a cabin in the train, Hermione asked. "What's your name?"

"Laura. Laura Angelo," she said.

"Nice to meet you, Laura."

Finally, they arrived. The first thing Laura realised was how red one of the boys's hair was.

Hermione was the one to talk. "Harry, Ron, this is Laura. She's a first year. Laura these are Ron Weasley and Harry Potter."

"Nice to meet you all," said Laura. "But you can call me Laurie."

"Hello, Laurie," said Harry. She smiled.

"Wait. Where the reaction?" Asked Ron. Harry sighed and Hermione rolled her eyes. "There's always the reaction! He's Harry Potter!"

"I'm-- I'm sorry?" Laurie frowned. She had never heard of Harry Potter. She felt self conscious for some reason. Maybe he was this rly famous person and would take it badly that she didn't know him.

"Well, yeah," he mumbled, taking a bite of his sandwich.

"Shut up Ron," said Harry. "No, it's okay if you don't know me," he explained. "I actually quite like it."

"Oh. Okay then," she said with a warm smile.

"Sit down," Harry said, smiling back and gesturing to the seat.

Laura sat beside him. Hermione sat beside Ron, making sure to sit very far away from him. The boy was all dirty with the chocolate he's been eating during the whole trip.
