Man 1: Well, it survived. But barely. The damage is extensive.
Man 2: Not long ago, he was at the height of its glory. Look at it now.
Man 1: Hmph. You sound almost sad. Don't tell me you still have feelings for your old home?
Man 2: No, none.
The man looked up a little, revealing a Sharingan underneath the hat.
The next day...
(Y/N) woke up in a hospital bed. He groaned and sat up a little.
Sasuke, Sakura, and Naruto all looked at him, relieved.
Naruto: (Y/N)! You're all right!
(Y/N) looked around.
(Y/N): What the—? What's going on?
Sakura looked like she was about to hug him.
Sakura: The battle's over! We won! The Sound and Sand ninja retreated.
(Y/N): They did? That's good I guess. How long has it been?
Sasuke: Only a day. You're way too reckless, (Y/N). I was worried about you.
Sasuke looked like he was pouting.
(Y/N) smiled and patted Sasuke's head.
(Y/N): Aww, you were worried about me. That's good to know.
Sakura then put something at the foot of (Y/N)'s bed. It was Crimson.
Sakura: We found this on the forest floor.
(Y/N): Oh, yeah! I forgot about Crimson. I was too busy wrapped up in the fight with Gaara. Thank you, Sakura.
She blushed a little.
(Y/N): So I take it Gaara and Temari escaped too?
Naruto: Yeah, but I think that Gaara won't be any trouble from here on out.
(Y/N): <raising an eyebrow> Is that right?
The door to the room opened and Kakashi walked in. He looked at (Y/N), surprised to see him awake.
Kakashi: Well, I'm glad you're okay, (Y/N). You gave us quite a scare back there. It's good to know we didn't lose you as well.
(Y/N): <confused> As well? Did someone die?
His teammates looked at each other with sadness in their eyes.
(Y/N): Wait, what happened? Who died?
Kakashi sighed.
Kakashi: The Third Hokage.
(Y/N)'s eyes widened and he looked at his teammates. Sasuke nodded and Sakura buried her face in her hands.
(Y/N): N-No. No way. Please be joking.
Kakashi shook his head.
Kakashi: Orochimaru killed him.
(Y/N) felt like he had just be punched in the gut really hard. The Hokage is dead?
(Y/N): W-What? No. I won't believe that. There's no way he's dead.
