At the end of this wandering
I want you to be there

Soyoung sat with her elbow resting on the marble table-top, chin tucked into her palm as she stared at her familiar surroudings with bored eyes- the sky turning shades of deep blue-black as the sun set and gloominess of the night loomed over them.

"Here," The tin coke was placed on the table in front of her, earning her attention and she mumbled out a quick 'thank you' grabbing onto the drink as she watched the boy sit down beside her.

"Nice location isn't it?" San began, pointing at their surround and Soyoung rolled her eyes, "Sure, arena is the perfect place".

San chuckled out, leaning back onto his chair with one hand placed on the back of his head while the other clutched the tin coke, "Why, you were expecting it be an actual date?"
"Maybe" She muttered out inaudible to the boy, sipping onto the contents of her drink.

"How did you get into this, the racers I mean" She began, keeping her eyes trained on the boy.
"I was born into it. My father was a racer"
"That's so cool" Soyoung cooed, nodding her head.

"Not really. There's no freedom- always engrossed onto reaching others expectations and to keep up with the reputation"
"Hm, that must've been hard" Soyoung hummed, slouching on her chair knowing how it felt to be restricted of one's freedom.

"Why do you work at the garage? It's your business right, you know- hire someone maybe?"
"The business faced loses after my father passed away, and eventually I had to take up. So, you can say it's not much of a pay but somewhat manageable" Soyoung explained and he nodded.

"You've been in here for probably the longest, how does that feel?" She asked, moving onto questioning him.

"The underworld is different, Soyoung- untold secrets disguised under a beautiful mask, it's hard to trust someone with all your heart. You wouldn't know even if they're plotting your murder behind your back, it's hard to survive" He broke off, attempting to keep his emotions at bay.

"Trust doesn't exist in this world. It's like an endless maze where everyone is trying to decipher the way out. But we all know, we won't get there-" San paused, glancing at the girl who silently listened to him, "Sorry, got a bit serious in there" He let out a small laugh.

Soyoung did not utter a word, knowing his smile was half-hearted, just to conceal his real emotions upon observing the way his eyes dropped onto his hand with a deep sigh and his grip on tin tightened.

'It's hard on me as well Soyoung. Loosing the ones I trust with all my heart hurts, it really does!'

"Looks like we're pretty similar in thoughts" Soyoung stated with an exhale, averting her gaze from him.

"Don't tell you're my long lost brother or something" She laughed, saying those words on a lighter-note to change the mood.

"Maybe, who knows?" He chuckled, pushing aside all his thoughts, not wanting to ponder over their previous conversation.

"Let's hope someday we get the freedom we're craving for" She muttered more to herself, placing the empty tin down on the table.

San outstretched his legs under the table, his knee slightly brushing against hers yet he payed no heed, "Actually I came to pick you up for a meeting"

"What meeting?" She asked, turning to face him.
"The manager is arriving at Seoul today, he wanted a meeting with all the members"
"Oh.." Soyoung trailed off, nodding in acknowledgment.

"I'll be back" With that Soyoung stood up, making her way to the restroom.

While on her way, an indistinct sound reached her ears making her pause, wondering if she was just hearing things.

Shrugging, she proceeded walking but when the sound of a blaring thud with subsequent glass shattering resonated through the empty hallway, she confirmed that she wasn't simply hearing things.

Turning around and warily skimming through her surroundings, her eyes landed on the huge glass door situated at the very opposite end.

Absolute stillness enclosed her, the only sound being of her own breath and it felt just like the silence that prevails before a destructive storm hits and she instinctively took a step, feeling her stomach churn.

And just then a metal rod was swung towards it, the huge glass shattering and her eyes flung wide open, watching as it crumbled onto the floor in a trice.

When she looked up her eyes met with the few men who stood on the other side- all black outfits, just their eyes in visibility and she couldn't ignore how all of them were armed.

Soyoung staggered back, fear-stricken since she had no knowledge of who they were nor what they wanted but all she knew was she had to escape from their sight, at the earliest.

"What the hell is goi—" The ear-piercing sound of a gunshot penetrated through the air, ripping her ears and she ducked down with hands over her ears, a scream filled with fear escaping her mouth subconsciously.

Soyoung did not give herself anymore time to think, her feet reacting quicker and she dashed out of the place- she didn't have to glance behind to know she was being followed by them.

Ears ringing, heart blundering and unsteady breaths as she took irregular steps across the hallway, desperate to break out.

Promptly turning round the corner, she rushed into the nearby room, not failing to lock the door shut behind her- her frantic eyes searching for a way out and spotting the small single-hung window, she scurried over.

The sound of footsteps nearing made her heart thump in her chest, mind an absolute mess and her movements quick as she pulled the window to an open before sneaking out.

A rough landing onto the empty roads which she recognized as the backside of the arena as she stood up on her quivering feet- fingers curled over her wrist that had a streak of blood that gradually began oozing out from the fresh cut.

A flash of light illuminated her sight just as she took a step forward forcing her to squint her eyes and the sharp screeching sound of tires made her look up, blinking away the light to gain a better vision.

The flame red Stingray swiftly halted in front of her and through the half-rolled window she caught sight of Mark who sat stiff against his seat, fingers grasping the steering wheel tight- his slitted, dark gaze piercing through hers.

"Get in, quick!"
