I can feel it I'm in danger
I can't run awaySoyoung was bemused as to what was happening, hearing gunshots was something she had least expected and her worry heightened.
Mark clasped onto her hand, his cold fingers wrapping around her wrist as his eyes roamed the surroundings warily, dragging the girl along.
"Mark—" Soyoung was interrupted when Mark hushed her, gesturing with a finger hovering over his mouth and she pursed her lips together.
Mark hunched over the railing, taking a glimpse of the floor beneath and his eyes spot five people covering each corner of the room.
Soyoung peeked to take a look and her eyes widened when she noticed all of them being armed with handguns, "Shit. What now?" She whispered out, looking at the boy with worry painting her features.
"Listen, you can't exit this building- we don't know if they have a backup. It's better to stay inside than step in the open when it's unclear. There's a door that leads directly to the basement," Mark pointed out, "Stay, till I get there".
"Are you crazy?! How are you going to take down five—" Soyoung broke off when his grasp around her hand tightened, "Youn, we can't take a chance" He stated, giving an assuring nod.
Soyoung stood firm on her words, not making any move, "No, Mark. I'm not leaving you alone" Her words earned a groan from the said boy, throwing his head back, irked.
Soyoung was well-aware she sounded adamant and this was not a situation for her to throw some tantrum like a kid but there was no way she would simply leave the boy alone and let him deal with five or maybe more armed men.
"First right, last door. Go" Mark muttered, letting go off her hand but before the girl could say a word, the sound of footsteps reached their ears and her heartbeat spiked when steps ascending up the stairs grew louder, indicating they were getting closer each second.
"I said go" Mark insisted, slitted gaze staring into her eyes- low voice stern with a hint of authority lingering beneath, "Trust me, just go" And at those words the girl felt obliged to follow him, letting him take the lead.
Soyoung reluctantly began taking steps back, fighting against her heart that pleaded her to accompany the boy- every ounce of her body refusing to part ways but maybe this was for the best.
The unsettling feeling in the pit of her stomach grew and she became wary of her surroundings, feeling a presence tailing her.
Soyoung clenched and unclenched her fist to maintain her composure, brushing aside the thought and assumed she was being paranoid until she heard faint footsteps.
Her eyes wandered around, barely aware of the headquarters since she had never gotten the chance to explore and she stumbled across another hallway, "Oh shit" She blurted out, running a hand down her hair, knowing she had probably come the wrong way.
