"So, since how long have you been a part of the racers?"
"Quiet long. For around—"
"Hendery" The boy was promptly cut off before he could complete himself, both- Soyoung and him turning around to face the owner of the voice.

The corner of Soyoung's lips slightly curled up at the sight of the familiar person, "Hey Yeri" She greeted with a short wave.

Yeri's eyes flickered over to Soyoung before landing on Hendery, face void of any expression.

"Meeting, now. Let's go" She gestured towards the room that was situated at one corner of the hall and Hendery looked over at Soyoung, "I'll catch up with you later" With that said, he slid his hands in his pocket, walking away from the girl.

"You can stay or leave, up to you" Yeri stated with a curt nod before spinning around on her heel and trailing behind Hendery.

Soyoung sighed under her breath at Yeri's conduct, gaze fixated on the girl's back- watching her soon step inside the room and out of her sight, "Weird" She muttered to herself, shrugging as she disregarded paying much attention to Yeri.

"What do I do?" Soyoung spoke to herself, fishing out her phone from her pocket. "It's weekend and a day off. Should I stay or...?" She trailed off into a whisper in perplexity.

"Whatever" She waved aside her thoughts, deciding to linger around in the arena for a while since she partially had nothing to keep her engaged back at home.

Soyoung made her way towards the grandstand which was entirely vacant in contrast to the Friday night and she seated herself down on one of the chairs- making sure she was in the shade of the corrugated sheet-metal roofing upon feeling her sensitive skin tingle at the noon sun that was blazing relentlessly.

The instant coolness encircling her soothed her senses and her posture slackened, "So hot, shouldn't have worn a full sleeve top" She mumbled out- her fingers gliding down the length of her slick brown hair before pulling it into a messy bun at her nape.

"Right." The raspy voice emerging from behind startled her, making her snap her head towards the person with eyes slightly wide in surprise.

Mark pushed himself off the white wall, approaching the girl and sitting down with one chair gap in between the two- white trainer feet propped up against the metal rod ahead that separated each row, with his back reclined against the chair languidly.

"Did I startle you?" Mark asked, facing his front and she gave a small hesitant nod despite knowing he wasn't watching her.

"Thought you were at the meeting" Soyoung mumbled, eyes unwavering on the boy, "Doesn't matter" He clicked his tongue, leaning his head back with eyes close.

"So how's it going, newbie?"
"Huh?"
"You're the new recruit, I'm aware" He added, casting her a brief look and she nodded in agreement.

"Well, words do spread quick" She mumbled, rolling up the sleeves of her black top up till her elbow, "They do" He replied, eyelids fluttering to a close once again.

"A boring first day, is it?"
"Kinda. I don't have much to do as of now" She answered and he simply nodded in acknowledgment.

"You'll fit in just right" Mark muttered out with an assuring nod- tone quiet yet audible to the girl and she sighed, "Hopefully".

With that, the conversation was brought to a cease- the awkward silence engulfing the two for a good minute before Soyoung cleared her throat, deciding to speak up.

"All our encounters are a bit, you know, awkward?"
"Our second time" He instantly corrected with a slight shrug.

"Also," Mark sat up straight, eyes drifting over to the girl as he spoke, "I don't think I've introduced mysel—"
"Mark Lee, I know" Soyoung interjected with a nod.

"There has never been a single conversation without your name being taken"
"Sounds good to hear. And considering how everyone was screaming my name that night, I wouldn't be surprised if you knew about me already" Mark responded and her eyebrows jumped up in surprise at those words.

"Screaming my name that night, great" She remarked, giving him a look like 'really?' and Mark let out a laugh in realization- head tipping back as he did so.

"I took you as an innocent one" A grin etched onto his lips, fingers running through his jet black hair and the girl looked away, not knowing how to respond.

"So, Choi Soyoung" Mark called out, raising his hand to rest it on top rail of the chair- her name rolling off his tongue effortlessly.

Soyoung glimpsed up at him- the corner of his lips tugging into an evident smirk made her heart pound within her chest and her hands clenched tight, eyes trailing off to stare ahead.

"I don't think our encounters will be awkward anymore" He paused, facing the girl and she remained tight-lipped, well aware of his eyes that were fixated on her figure and how the tips of his slender fingers ever-so-slightly brushed against her bare, exposed neck made her stiffen.

"Why so?"
"Cause we'll see each other everyday starting now"
Before Soyoung could react he sat up straight, legs detaching from above the rod before swiftly resting his feet on the ground and standing up with his hands in his jean pocket.

"Are you leaving?"
"Why, do you want me to stay with you?" He cocked up a brow- the smug smile widening on his face.

"No"
"No?"
"I mean, yes, but not- uh, just go" Soyoung averted her gaze- a flush of red arising on her face in embarrassment earning a chuckle from him, watching her with amusement dancing in his eyes.

"I'll see you later Youn" Mark bid her a bye with his raised hand curtly waving at her before turning around and walking away from the girl.

Soyoung's heart lurched at his words- eyes gradually widening in astonishment.

"What the hell is 'Youn'?! It's sounds so bad" Soyoung shook her head in disapproval at the newfound nickname.
"I love it- it's cute and short, just like you" The boy teased with a bright smile plastered on his face and a laugh slipped his lips upon watch her jaw drop to the floor at his comment.
"What did you just say?! You asshole- you're dead!"

Soyoung exhaled out, dismissing away her thoughts- her fingers curled into her palm at the familiar feeling that stung her heart in agony.

"I miss you Jun"
