The moment I close my eyes,
I'm left all alone

Soyoung stared at the sky that began turning into deeper shades of blue with the moon appearing in-and-out her sight from behind the black clouds floating around the blanket.

Her hand hovering above the window frame clenched, eyes closed as she drew her eyebrows closer- a part of her still denying to believe that her mother had left, left without concerning herself about her own daughter.

"Hey" The sudden voice emerging ripped her away from her thoughts and she glanced over her shoulder, spotting San by the doorway.

"All good?" He asked with a finger pointing at her ankle that was freshly swathed—by Mark— and she nodded with a smile, reassuringly, "Somewhat better".

"I was too distracted to pay you a visit. You know, with Changbin leaving to acquire info about the bikers and stuff, I was tryna figure things out. It's a lame excuse to defend myself-" San broke off with a sigh, shaking his head before taking his place beside the girl.

"Sorry" Those words caught her off guard and out of everything else, apology was definitely not what she was expecting to leave his mouth.

Her eyes darted ahead with a smile settling on her face, "Don't be. You aren't bound to either" She replied, "Making time to check up on me itself means a lot, thanks San" The smile was now draw onto his face, the soft dimples curving onto his cheeks.

"Being a part of us, you are my responsibility too" He muttered, resting his elbow on the frame with his fingers locked and her smile widened, a subsequent soft chuckle.

There was a few seconds of silence that lingered in the air before he cleared his throat, "Are you still thinking about your mother?" He asked, reluctantly, not wanting to invade her privacy or intending to know anything about her personal life.

"Kinda" She mumbled with a sigh under her breath, "Honestly, I don't know how to feel about this, it's- it's just.. weird" She added, eyes staring faraway, gulping down the lump that grew in her throat.

"I get you" San began, "It's hard to embrace their loss and proceed to live without their presence. The scar on your heart remains forever, evoking the shared memories—whether good or bad and this," His palm raised to his chest, patting softly, "hurts every time you think about them. I get you".

Soyoung wordlessly stared at him, his words were undeniably right- describing every emotion she felt deep down in the right words and she couldn't agree more.

But the emerging question in her mind of how he was so well-aware of it got her intrigued but she decided to not question him, she was in no place to either.

"My father abandoned me when I was four, that's how I know how you feel- if you're curious, which I mean, you are" San spoke and her eyebrows jumped up in surprise at how he worded it so casually but soon she nodded, averting her gaze from the boy.

"Sorry to hear that" She muttered, fidgeting with her fingers, "Well, I usually might have sympathized myself but not anymore, not when I don't know why he left. To be honest, I don't even remember how exactly he looked" He laughed inwardly with pursed lips as her eyes drifted onto the sky.

Though he sounded composed and barely bothered by his own statement, she didn't fail to notice the hint of lingering sorrow which was evident in his tone and a small smile drew onto her lips as she stared at the night sky which perfectly reflected her feelings- melancholy and crestfallen.

"Shit, I shouldn't have said that- it was so random. I probably made you uncomfortable, didn't I?" San scratched his nape in embarrassment, partially hiding his face in between his folded arms and she laughed, heartily.

"Don't worry, I would rather have a heart-to-heart conversation with you than stand in awkward silence" She responded, meeting his gaze and the sight of the hue of red on the apples of his cheek made her smile reach her eyes.

A hand came flinging around her shoulder and Soyoung almost cursed at the uninvited move, "And if you two are done with your sweet talk, we can leave" The voice informed, tugging her closer to the figure and she recognized the owner as none other than Kim Yeri.

San straightened himself, "For?" He asked, slipping his hands in his pocket, "Yeonjun has something to announce" She shrugged with a soft click of her tongue.

"And you," Yeri looked at Soyoung in her hold, "Can you walk?" She asked, taking a glimpse at her ankle but before Soyoung could respond, she spun the girl around and slipped her arm around her own shoulder while the other hand rested on her lower back.

"You are too slow" She muttered, letting the younger lean onto her and though Soyoung was hesitant to put her weight down on the girl, she had no other option- either let Yeri guide her or have her injury aggregate.

And since she was to part take in the upcoming race, also her first, she didn't want to take a risk.

"Walk, I mean try to walk" Yeri said, giving her back a gentle tap as a cue and Soyoung blinked in perplexity, lost as to why she was acting very civil with her out of the blue but nonetheless she listened to her.

"And what's this going to be about?" San asked calmly, walking alongside Yeri who assisted Soyoung, matching with the brunette's pace to walk their way to the allotted room for the meeting.
