Melissa ran to the Salvatore's house after see this message about Rose. "Damon?" She called out as she ran in. Damon appeared and hugged her. "How is she?"

"Not good." He tells her.

Melissa ran upstairs and saw Rose. The vampire looked pale and sick. Melissa walked over to her and smiled as she hugged Rose. "I'm so sorry."

"There's nothing you could have done, Melissa." Rose tells the blonde. "You know, I thought I would never have a friend besides Trevor and I'm glad I got to meet you."

Melissa walked to the other side of Damon's bed and laid beside her. "Damon, go find a cure. I'll stay with Rose." Damon nodded and left making the blonde look at Rose. "Can you tell me what your life was like before turning."

"Sure."

Melissa was shocked to see Elena there. The blonde fell asleep as she has been with Rose most of the day.

"Hello, Melissa." She heard and turned to see no one.

"Hello." She called out.

"Melissa?" She raised up to see Rose. "You need to leave before I hurt you."

"You won't hurt me." Melissa tells her. "I promise."

Rose nodded as she watched her walk out. Melissa stood outside the door with her hand over her mouth. She leaned against the wall crying as she had a feeling that there wasn't a cure. Elena walked in with some blood for Rose.

Standing up, Melissa walked in behind her just to see Rose attacking Elena. "Rose!" She said as she pulled her away from Elena. "Rose, look at me. That's not Katherine."

Elena watched as Rose broke down and cried making Rose hug Melissa. "I'm so sorry." Rose said as she cried into Melissa.

Melissa smiled as she knew it wasn't her fault. This infection was getting to her and there was nothing she could do, but hopes Damon finds a cure.

Sometime that night, Melissa fell asleep not knowing that Rose had tried to attack Elena, but this time in the kitchen. She saw herself in a beautiful white dress which confused her.

"Melissa."

She followed the sound of a male voice till she felt her surroundings started to shake.

"Melissa!" Melissa jerked awake and looked at Elena. "Rose is gone."

Melissa didn't say a word as she ran out of the Salvatore house and in her car. "Please be okay, Rose." She mumbled as she drove away from the house leaving Elena behind. She dialed Damon's number just to hear his voice. "Damon, Rose left."

"Okay, I'll find her."

"I think I just did." She said as she stopped her car. "Rose."

"Melissa."

Melissa hung the phone up and ran over to her. "Let's get you home."

"Okay."

Melissa smiled as she held Rose's hand when Damon walked in. She knew what he was about to do, but she wasn't going to leave Rose's side. Damon sat down beside Rose as Melissa smiled. "Make her comfortable, Damon."

Damon managed to get inside Rose's head with Melissa. "I'm home."

"It's beautiful." She said as she looked at Rose.

"Melissa, thank you for being my friend."

Melissa smiled with tears in her eyes. Damon kissed Rose's head before they were back in the room. Melissa saw the stake and looked at Damon before hugging him as they cried together.
