Crystal's POV

"Temperatures expected to hit record highs this afternoon..." The weatherman on TV trailed on

"It's going to be a hot one today," Cait remarked as she fanned herself with a pad of paper

"Yeah," I said distantly, lost in thought as I stared at the bright "95' degrees" displayed on the screen

Cait's hand made a few passes in front of my face, and brought me back to reality, "What's going on in that silver head of yours?"

"A lot of nothing, as always," I smirked

She smiled, shoving my shoulder lightly, "That wasn't your normal 'nothing' stare. What's up?"

I smiled, "Something stupid Cisco would love." I rose from my seat, "If Dr. Wells asks, we're taking our lunch." I announced, walking briskly out of the room and to the cryo-chamber room. I ran right up to Cisco as he worked, "Get your keys! We're going shopping!"

He gazed up amused, "For?"

I snatched his keys off the counter and tossed them to him. I laughed as he yelped and fumbled to catch them. "Don't ask questions!" I grabbed him by the arm and started dragging him out of the room despite his protests.

It wasn't until we got to the parking lot that he put an end to the dragging. He turned to me, his brown eyes twinkling in the light, "Okay, what the hell are you up to?"

I bit the side of my lip and smiled innocently, "What? You don't trust me?"

He laughed, "Not in the slightest. What's up?"

"How long do you think it would take to add flavoring compartments to the bike?"

"I like where this is going." he grinned, "An hour, maybe. Why?"

"How do you feel about free snowcone day?"

"Love it!" the grin widened as he opened the passenger door for me, "Where the hell did that idea come from anyway?"

"Just trying to help the city I love through the heatwave." I gave a light grunt as I hopped into the front seat, "You in?"

"Oh I'm in!" he shut the door and walked around to the other side of the van.

4:00 pm

"You getting ready to head back yet?" Cisco asked through the com

"Give me a little longer. This is fun." I leaned up against my bike for a small break

"Just don't overdo it. You know your system doesn't cope too well in the heat."

"You worry too much." I teased. The truth was I had already handed out a few dozen snowcones and it was starting to weigh on me, but seeing all the happy faces made it worth it.

I felt a small tug on my cape and turned around to find a little girl staring up at me, "Gotta go, babe. The public awaits." I knelt to be at eye level with her, "What can I do for you, sweetie?"

"Miss Nix, may I have a snowcone?"

"Well, of course! What flavor would you like?"

"Blue raspberry, please?"
