"I'm gonna call Joe." Barry announced, and he tried...repeatedly but got no answer, "Or not." he sighed as he tried another number

"Who're you calling now?" Cisco asked him

"My boss."

"Not now," I heard the other man answer

"Captain Singh, I've been trying to get in touch with Joe or anyone at the precinct."

Singh sighed, "There's a hostage situation, Barry, and Joe's inside...So's his daughter. I'll call you when I know more." he hung up without another word

"Wait-" Barry began to pace, "Joe and Iris are in trouble. I need my powers back now."

"I have a theory," Wells told him, "It's untested."

"I'm willing to roll the dice."

"Okay, you've lost your speed, yes, but nothing has changed inside you on a subatomic level. In other words, your cells are still primed."

"They just need a jumpstart," Cisco spoke up

"How do we do that? How do we jumpstart me?"

"We need to replicate the initial jolt to your system."

I shook my head quickly, "But that would mean a peak current of at least 20,000 kilo-amps."

"Are you insane?" Cait asked incredulously, "That's more electricity than they give to people in the electric chair."

"Caitlin, with Farooq in the building, we're all looking at a death sentence here." Wells reasoned

I sighed, not liking the plan but seeing no other option, "The spare generator's offline. If we reboot it, we could get a charge that big."

"We need something that can transmit that load from the generator to Barry's body without shorting out."

"The treadmill." Cisco looked at me, "Our baby could take the charge."

"What if Barry can't?" I swallowed hard

"Well, that's up to Mr.Allen."

Barry didn't answer, instead heading for the door, "Where are you going?" Cait asked him

"I'm gonna talk to him."

"Nope." Wells was quick to disagree, "No."

"You didn't see him at the substation. He needed to feed. I got superspeed out of the particle accelerator blast, Cris got her cold, his best friends died. He woke up with a disease."

"Earlier today, you worked a crime scene where this metahuman electrocuted an innocent man. He's a murderer!" Wells raised his voice, "And you are powerless to defend yourself against him."

"He may just need help like I did." He gave me those damn puppy-dog eyes, "Like we did. I don't need my powers to offer him that. I have to try."

I watched Wells flounder for something to say for a minute before following Barry out. He was right, we had to help Farooq before he hurt himself or anyone else. "You know what you're gonna say or are we risking another frying for nothing?" I turned back to see Cait, Cisco, and Wells had indeed followed us out but were keeping their distance
