A/N:

Hello!

I'm alive! Sorry, it's been so long since the last update. I've spent the last nine months doing a total rewrite of another one of my stories. I'm finally done with that and back on my usual writing schedule.

Crystal's POV

"This is weird, right?" Caitlin asked me and Cisco as she took a seat at a table, "We never go out to bars like this."

"A little," I nodded, "but it's nice to hang out somewhere other than the lab or my apartment. Barry saved me a snack run." I grinned before taking a sip of the cocktail in front of me. It wouldn't do shit to get me anything short of buzzed, but it was tasty.

"Speaking of which," Cisco spoke, "whatcha think he's doing over there?" he nodded to where Barry was sitting by himself at the bar

"I'll go check." I pushed off the table dramatically and made my way to my friend, "You gonna join us or just keep being creepy?" I quirked an eyebrow at him with a smile

"Sorry, just thinking."

"About?" I hopped into the seat beside him

"About why people come into our lives? How we know who's here to stay and who isn't?" he paused, "If friends can become something more?" I didn't even have to look where he was to know who he was talking about.

That didn't mean I couldn't screw with him a bit

"If you're asking about Cisco, I can attest to his straightness, though there was this one time in college-"

He laughed loudly and cut me off, "You know what I mean."

"I guess that answers the question that's been on my mind for weeks." his brows creased in confusion, "Why you didn't go for it with Felicity?" I supplied, nudging him with my elbow, "You know it's entirely understandable to fall for your best friend. It might get messy, but that's better than spending the rest of your life kicking yourself for never doing something about it."

Barry sighed, "I don't know, Cris,"

"Trust me, I know how scary that leap is-" I leaned a little closer to him, "-but in the months since you woke up you've faced men who can control the weather, make duplicates of themselves, turn into poison gas clouds, and outsmart us with our own tech. You've done much scarier shit than telling Iris-"

"'Telling Iris' what?" the lady herself asked as she walked up

"Uh," I looked to Barry for help, but he was floundering. I let out a nervous laugh,  "I just didn't know how to break it to you that I was gonna kick your boyfriend's ass at darts." No way that worked

Iris laughed, "Why don't you go tell him that, Cris? He's waiting for you," she nodded to where Eddie was, in fact, taunting me with two handfuls of darts

"We doing this or what, Snow?" he goaded

"Oh, you're on, Thawne." I slid from the stool and jogged over to the detective. I took the bunch of red darts from his left hand and set myself up behind the taped line on the floor. I squared my shoulders and threw my first dart. It flew through the air and hit the bullseye.

"How'd you-" the blond was dumbfounded

"I went to college a little younger than the rest -" I threw another, and it, too, took its spot in the middle of the board. Cait and Cisco cheered, " - and I had to make up for not being able to drink somehow." I threw another, with the same result, "Got pretty damn good at it too." My last dart left my hand and did the same, "It's just physics, after all." I winked at my friend, "Your turn, Detective."
