A/N
Skipping over ep 3 because...well because I feel like it. Cris' journal entry is gonna serve as a recap.
This was gonna be one long-ass chapter with actual plot and all my add-ins, so I thought it best to split it in two. Part two should already be up after this one. Also, a quick heads up, Barry does get a little OOC in this chapter. There was a scenario I've been wanting to use forever and it really only works if Barry is a little out of character. All that and I changed the timeline of the episode to fit my narrative.
Enjoy!

Crystal's POV
"Crystal's log: Day 304
Barry ran ahead without me...again. I swear to God he's doing it on purpose. I let it slide when he went to fight Nimbus. Joe was in danger and Barry couldn't wait for me to get changed. That I get, but now Nimbus is locked away in the pipeline and the problem remains. I thought we were partners in this and he's not even looking back before running off. It's bullshit! What's worse is Cisco, Wells, even Cait, don't seem to notice. They're all too focused on the fancy new toy that is Barry Allen. It's like they put me up on the shelf with all the other projects they got tired of."
I sighed into the notebook, these entries were starting to get ranty. So what if my team has all but abandoned my efforts in the city. Why shouldn't they be focused on Barry? We hadn't even scratched the surface of what he was capable of... hadn't done that with me either but who's keeping track
I couldn't dwell on that feeling for too long, it was Barry's day off and he was coming to the lab to "test his multitasking capabilities", whatever that actually meant.

Star Labs
8:00 am
A gust of wind blew past, nearly knocking me on my ass, as I stepped into the Cortex, "See you guys started without me." I tacked on a smile as I made my way to each of them with their coffee.
First was Cisco playing ping pong in the center of the lab, he barely looked away from the table as he called a "Thanks." over his shoulder. He took the 'sport' way too seriously
Next was Cait who was sitting in the corner of the room with a game of Operation. At least she looked at me when she said "Thank you, Crissy." when given her drink
Finally, Dr. Wells was in Cait's lab with a game of chess in front of him. From him, I got a nod followed by a "Miss Snow."
And in the middle of it all was Barry bouncing from station to station, really testing the strength of the recently delivered paperweights we now had on every available surface. I decided to take the spot next to Cait as she continued to struggle with removing Operation Sam's wishbone. The game buzzed mockingly at her failure, "Wow, and we let you patch us up." I smirked
"This isn't even remotely anatomically correct," she argued as she threw down the tweezers
Barry ran up to the table, taking the tweezers in his hand to remove the offending piece, "That's not the point, Dr. Snow.' he said smugly before he took off again
