"Your talent show is coming up soon, right?" Sarah asked Davey.

"Well, it's like the last day of school or something, so not THAT close," Davey shrugged.

"You should still practice, I was told one of your friends has been training for months," Sarah suggested.

"Well, she's doing some insane gymnastics cheerleading thing, I'm either singing or juggling, and I'm fairly good at both of those," Davey joked.

"I just got a brilliant idea," Sarah smiled, "you should juggle AND sing at the same time, that would take both concentration and skill, you might not win but you'd be up there,"

"Uh... how can I hold a microphone and juggle at the same time?" Davey pointed out.

"We could get you one of those little ear microphones," Sarah pointed to her ear, "I think it would be super cool,"

"Well... it... SEEMS do-able," Davey thought about it.

"Let's see if you can do it, I'll pull up the song, you go get your beanbags," Sarah got her phone out.

"I already got them for you," Les came out of Davey's room with Davey's beanbags.

"Okay," Sarah found the song on YouTube.

The action ended up being more difficult than Davey had expected, he had trouble focusing on the words of the song and the position of the beanbags at the same time.

"See? You do need practice," Sarah teased, "and what if you could put a spin in every time you sang the chorus, like right at the start? THAT would add style points for sure,"

"I'll consider it... but singing a pop love song and juggling is kind of a weird combination, don't you think?" Davey pointed out.

"Well, you could just say 'I couldn't decide between my two talents so I decided to just do both,' hm?" Sarah suggested.

"Or, here's a thought, I could just sing the song," Davey crossed his arms.

"Well, you COULD do that, I mean if you wanted to," Sarah shrugged.

"Which I do, so I think I'm going to go put my beanbags back where they belong," Davey went back to his room and put his beanbags in his under-the-bed box.

"I have a play date," Les informed Davey.

"Hm?" Davey was honestly uninterested.

"I have a play date later today," Les repeated, "with my friend Sally,"

"Cool," Davey noticed his journal on the corner of his desk, "isn't that the girl you said you have a crush on?"

"Yeah, she's a plum," Les nodded.

Davey stood confused for a second before realizing, "Oh, you mean peach?"

"No, I'm pretty sure it's plum," Les shook his head.

Davey laughed, "The saying goes 'they're a peach,' it means they're a nice or sweet person, like a peach is sweet,"

"Well if that's what it is then is should be able to go either way, because plums are sweet, too," Les pointed out.

"Huh," Davey had to admit, Les had some pretty solid logic, "touché,"

"Are you going to write in your notebook? I saw you looking at it," Les took a coloring book and some markers out of the basket on top of his toy-box and left the room.

"Why ask if you're not going to stick around for the answer?" Davey opened his journal and got a pencil out of his desk, the one with the pencil grip from Maine.
